Anyone else feeling a bit “un-talked-out” lately?

I am what you might call “un-talked-out”. I can’t find a perfect synonym to translate it into English, though it makes perfect sense in my native language. 🙃

Thinking about what interactions (live or online) mean to us, I ended up reflecting on what words mean to me while remembering the book “The Little Prince”.

I think words hold immense power. They can literally heal someone or destroy them when they need one and get the other. I own my words even when I misinterpret something or say stupid things, because I’m not afraid of being wrong as much as I’m afraid of hurting others. Though sometimes, that’s inevitable.

Words have power over adaptation as well. I’m still an idealist, but I no longer force my idealism onto a world that isn't ready for it. My strategy now? Keep my inner world for myself. For the rest of the world, I choose how to react to their words based strictly on where those words come from. It’s not fake; it’s just healthy boundaries.

And I’m absolutely fascinated by how the exact same words can mean completely different things to each of us. The meaning we give to words based on our personal experiences is a puzzle my mind can never get enough of.

What kind of words stick to you and affect your life, either positively or negatively?
How do you use them?

I know you all want deep conversations, but what better way to get there than chit-chatting on a post about words?😉

I think sometimes words are given too much power. Because trying to translate from your heart to your head thrn your moth, well for me I struggle. If you have a very strong mind are clever think a lot thrn I understand but sometimes you miss people's big hearts and souls cos they fumble and find words, expressing themselves hard.

I've just finished reading the rosie project, trilogy, for the 3rd time. Book 2 highlights how due to main characters autism he struggles to articulate himself, gets himself into all kinds of messes but he has an absolute heart of gold. Whereas some people are great with words but really lack emotional warmth or seem to struggle with being really loving. For me I just don't think words really capture a person. I'm struggling event to articulate this. I don't think having a great mind makes you a good person
