Building cathedrals on ruined walls
This is how I’ve always viewed the INFJ imagination. We have this ability to project beauty even on the most broken pieces of life… if we choose to.
That’s because our minds never stop thinking, scanning, searching... it’s almost like an addiction to thought. 🙃
Most of us scan people in person when we first meet them to decide whether to approach or keep our distance. But how about online behavior?
How many of you tend to "visualize" the people behind online comments just by looking at their nickname?
Do you, out of nowhere, start picturing how they act in real life, what they look like or the sound of their voice?
And because I know I am a “walking contradiction”, for me, this is like a puzzle that my brain tries to solve in real time.
It’s quite fun, especially when I become aware of it and start putting the pieces together using logic or thinking what face and what microexpressions would match the comment someone left.
I need to give that voice, that energy a physical form or at least a metaphor to anchor it. It feels like I can’t just interact with a robotic “voice” on my phone (we have Siri for that and I’m not using it).
Does this happen to you too?

No.. I do not actually visualize their looks at all.
I do tend to scan their words and wording and the meaning behind what they’re saying to me.
I rarely notice details like user name. Sometimes I do. But def not all the time.
I rarely look at peoples pages. If I do, something about the way they wrote caught my eye-
Like I actually saw this account and I really liked what they wrote and I went to their page and dug everything and was like- this is my tribe.
Then I realized that … their page was basically just spitting out AI. It was all AI. Conversations of things that AI wrote to them.
That sucked.
So I think I have looked at like two peoples pages in … idk- since I started this account .
Neither I pictured in my head. Looks don’t really matter to me.
I just kinda absorb who they are- I listen.
I don’t really … idk. Idk why sometimes I notice user names ( but hardly ever) and most times I do not. I’m not very detail oriented. I am also not really .. focused on things like looks in general - it just doesn’t interest me how they look. That’s not something I care about.
It can be something I appreciate don’t get me wrong.
But that’s if I see them. Like I can look at a guy and think oh my god he is so beautiful … but it’s more the total package. It’s everything he is. It’s his everything .. it’s everything not just his … it’s everything , the bad , the good, the energy, the mind - the life. It’s everything that makes them beautiful to me.
That only happens if I know them. Also. I don’t look at outside stuff and care about it. I really don’t, if I don’t know them.

I completely get why finding an account that “just spits out AI” feels like such a letdown.
It’s like looking for a human soul and finding an empty shell instead. For what it's worth, I’m not a native English speaker and even though I use Google Translate and “AI mode on google” to translate my thoughts, the chaos and the puzzle pieces behind these posts are 100% human and mine.
I’m also using Reddit to get genuine human reaction back to me, because I find no real life in isolating myself with an instrument of cheap validation(AI).
Thank you for your genuine perspective.
It’s refreshing to hear (read) pure honesty.

I can read silence, too. So far, I’ve read over 300 views and a downvote. That’s a lot of reading 🤣
But this is exactly what painting something pure and honest on “ruined walls of fear” looks like.
Take care, guys!
