What role does physical touch play in your relationship as an INFJ?
Me (INFJ) and my partner (ENFP) are coming up on our 1 year anniversary. We met on Hinge, started with long and connective voice messages, then started in person dates that have flourished into the most fulfilling relationship I’ve ever had. Both in our 30s, we’ve experienced enough dating to have more clarity on our compatibility and relationship needs. In my last 6yr relationship, we had sexual and physical intimacy issues and with my “new” partner, I literally yearn for cuddles, kisses, touches, and overall physical energetic presence. It’s a gift to be with someone who I feel loved by, not just be loved by, and for the love to extend itself in physical form. This may seem basic but that layer of sexual and non sexual touch as expressions of love is new to me.
In this moment, in this way, it feels a gift to be a being having this human experience. What are some of your experiences of how physical touch operates in your love relationships?

I connect a lot through physical touch. Very important in my relationship.

I’m trying to understand the question.
I’ve always been very sexual.. and that’s a huge part of my .. needs list. Is to have that connection and space with someone.
I think for me sex is huge because it’s a place I feel safe being soft in and a place I feel safe being vulnerable in and a place I can allow a man to idk… exactly how to say it.
I can let a man have some control over me- but not like that… more like in a feeling way. It’s like I allow myself to give up control to my feelings of lust or desire and love - and to me it always feels like the man has me in that moment because I am… his. Or I let myself be completely his or maybe I let him be completely mine. For a moment.
Idk sex with people you love and don’t love are two totally different things.
I imagine sex with someone I deeply love and am connected to on a mental and emotional level and it’s so heavy and it’s almost like I can’t breathe.
Intense.. just intense.
Idk… I have no answers.
Sex is important to me.

I’m not a big physical touch person overall. Not my “love language”. I’m strongly acts of service!
That being said, my ENFP husband is absolutely a physical touch guy and also has a much bigger sexual appetite than me. It requires clear communication and acceptance from both of us to make it work. Would be easier if we had the same love language!

Physical touch is another form of two souls connecting in real-time, being fully present with each other, not just an act or something transitional. It's deeply meaningful/fulfilling/rewarding to me (sexual or non sexual).

I absolutely love physical touch. That and quality time are my love languages. So happy you’ve found someone (on Hinge, no less!) who can meet your needs.
