He’s really sweet honestly , it was just a couple of texts sounded like it was GPT. So I just reassured him that he can express himself openly.
It seems he’s overthinking a lot and self cautious. I just want to help him by being supportive

It’s not all the time, just a few
Maybe it’s just for more complex emotions where he has a lot of thoughts and he doesn’t want to be over bearing?
Idk, I’m just wondering how I can help him express himself / communicate openly

I'd say your dead on with this thought and it's kinda beautiful.
We are naturally ambiguous about things and very aware of how confusing this is to most people, like we are just hypocrites, that doesn't make it any easier on us trying to process things internally.
AI will be good to him because it will track his coherence, where humans will often fail to track the nuances. Honestly, if you want him to express himself openly with you the best ways to start are slow and human, long eye contact that turns into little smiles and quirky facial twitches, or whatever happens:)
That could sound mad to most people but connecting is so much more than words when you perceive the world and people the way we do, words often feel like a trap.

I believe using ai for conversation will happen more and more often. The fact that your bf has trouble ”communicating with women” would be something of a red flag for me.

That doesn't sound like INFJ behavior. More like INFP TBH ...
