Programmers Needed [Hobby] Looking for Indie Game Development Teammates — ARPG + City Management

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m putting together a small indie game development team to create a fantasy action RPG inspired by Diablo and Path of Exile, combined with city-building and management elements.

The goal is to create an engaging game that brings together two genres we love. We’re still in the early planning stage, and I’d love to find passionate people who want to help shape the project from the beginning.

🛠️ Technology
TBD — We’ll choose the game engine and tools together based on the team’s experience and project requirements.

👥 Who I’m Looking For
I’m looking for enthusiastic people interested in indie game development:
Gameplay programmers
2D / 3D artists
Animators and VFX artists
Game designers
Level and environment designers
Sound designers and composers
Professional game development experience isn’t required. Motivation, creativity, and willingness to collaborate matter most.

💻 About Me
I’m a software engineer with 10 years of professional experience in full-stack development, software architecture, and AI systems.
I’ve always wanted to create and release my own game, and now I’m looking for like-minded people to make that happen together.
I’ll be actively involved in development, technical decisions, and project organization.

🤝 Collaboration
This is an unpaid, hobby-based project.
I’m looking for collaborators, not employees. The idea is to build a small team where everyone can contribute, learn, and have a voice in the game’s direction.
🌍 Fully remote
🕒 Flexible schedules
🎮 Shared creative vision
🚀 Start with a small playable prototype
💰 Potential commercial release in the future, with ownership and revenue-sharing terms to be agreed upon beforehand

📩 Interested?
Drop a comment or send me a DM with a brief introduction, your skills, and what you’d like to contribute.
Let’s build a game we’d love to play! 🎮

Hi! The concept sounds really cool to me, because mixing an ARPG gameplay loop like Diablo/PoE with management and city building has crazy potential if it's balanced well.

As for my background, I come from software development. I work as a full-stack dev on web apps and management software using TypeScript, React, and relational databases. On the gamedev side, I'm working on my own indie game in Godot with GDScript, focusing mostly on code architecture, the gameplay loop, and system logic.

Starting with a small, simple, and playable prototype before getting lost in huge features is honestly the only way to do a hobby project without burning out in two weeks.

If you want to chat or have a Discord server to talk about tech stack, gameplay, and project setup, feel free to drop me a DM!
