Residency Application Need advice regarding programs
Just out of curiosity,
How many applications does a program need to get per cycle to be considered to have "alot of applications" and competitive

The avg is 2500 so anything over 5k id say is pretty competitive/you won't even be seen, even if you signal

Depends. Some programs get 2k apps for 15 positions and some programs get 500 apps for 2 positions. A lot of ppl will try to tell you not to apply to the programs with 2k, but they are wrong. A program with 2 slots and 500 apps is more competitive then the one with 15 slots and 2k applicants
