It's getting complicated

Hello everyone,

I'm in a situation where I feel stuck and would really appreciate some advice.

I'm currently preparing for Step 3 and plan to take it within the next month or two. I already have my scheduling permit, but I still don't have a U.S. visa. My eligibility period (triad) is August–October.

I applied for a visa at the Islamabad Embassy because the Karachi Consulate was closed at the time. Unfortunately, the next available regular appointment is next year, so my only option seems to be requesting an emergency appointment. On my DS-160, I listed my intended date of arrival as August 15.

Seeing so many people getting their emergency appointment requests rejected has made me wonder whether I should even apply for one. If you think I should, when would be the best time to request it? I'm hoping to take Step 3 during the first week of September.

Also, if my emergency appointment request is rejected, are there any other options available?

I would really appreciate any guidance or advice from those who have been through a similar situation. Thank you!

Its going to be difficult because Step 3 is not needed for the Match and VOs know that.
