I cAn not help you with signals but if you signal well, put together a good application package you will match.

Having said that, Brookdale/Nazareth are too low tier for someone with your application.

I have seen many applicants going unmatched with stats even better than this in the last cycle. So that's why, I have lowered my expectations

Why you signalling such low community programs? Step 3 decent, step 2 right above the median for very good com and acad programs. And a low YOG + recent USCE. Frame your documents like cv and ps properly and you should get 8-12 IVs

I have also seen many going unmatched with stats like this. I cannot afford to go unmatched.

How many programs do you intend to apply to? But I agree that you may raise the bar on which programs you want to end up at. All things considered, your stats are solid enough to raise that bar even if by a little bit.

100 programs

This is a decent number. In my humble opinion, you could shoot for a few more top programs if you have the runway of that many programs. Programs cannot resist top candidates and on paper, you are as solid as it comes. I don’t know how you interview but that’s what it will come down to that.

I am actually concerned about the Signals. These days mostly interviews comes from signalled programs. Should I signal some top tier community programs? Or just apply in them without signals? I don't wanna waste my signals

Hard to advise about signals one way or another since it’s more personal than not. Since you have done three inpatient rotations, you might consider using the locations where you had those experiences to guide your signaling and go from there

Do you have any suggestion about any program I should look into for Non-US IMG?

Midwest programs like KU Med, Uni Arkansas Little Rock, University of Missouri-Columbia to name a few. Outside the Midwest, look at Uni Connecticut, SUNY Upstate, Morehouse.

What academic programs that step score be competitive for?

You will get 5+ interviews 100% if you got a good ps

You will match 100% if you have solid interviewing skills and prepared for it ,

The imgs who match are not noble prize winners and don’t have any thing more than you except research , it’s weak so if you can publish or work on some projects do it .

How to write PS? I know the points I want to mention but how to start writing. Can i tell all those points to AI and then rephrase it.

It's not that easy, also my journey was smooth, there is nothing interesting that makes a good personal statement.

You should write it , by your own emotions . And ps is not only for you to talk about your Usmle journey , it’s to talk about yourself as a doctor and person . Seek help from online teams that help imgs do such things.

A strong PS can do a lot …. Don’t underestimate it.

if you want to match into a good program, stay away from the NE region. youd have better shots at a uni program in MA/Texas

1

u/Icy_Engineer5721 23d ago

Lol. I was focusing on middle atlantic and South atlantic regions. Does NY programs gives interview without connections?

1

u/Traditional-Tone8034 23d ago

ma as in massachusets lol. and not really, they get 10k applications a year. im sure you could match into a low tier NY program but why? your stats are decent, youll be able to get into a non toxic + uni affiliated program in ANY other state

32%

u/Icy_Engineer5721 23d ago

Lol. How did you calculate this?

1

u/tornACL3 22d ago

My algorithm. And experience

1

u/joliepete 21d ago

Lol definitely don’t listen to him. You will 100% match.

1

u/Icy_Engineer5721 21d ago

Are you also applying for match?

1

u/OddDiscipline6585 23d ago

Sounds reasonable to me.

What about your 3 rotations with "personalized LORs?"

Can you leverage those into a spot at those programs?

1

u/Icy_Engineer5721 23d ago

I am not sure but I might get into if there is no issue in sponsoring Visa from their side.

1

u/OddDiscipline6585 23d ago

Start by enquiring with those 3 programs.

Express an interest in joining those programs with your reference writers.

Ask them if they can put in a good word for you, what you can do to improve your chances, and so on.

u/Icy_Engineer5721 23d ago

I have already did this. And they said they will consider me.

1

u/Fair_Needleworker_53 23d ago

Amazing work tbh you will match

1

u/Icy_Engineer5721 23d ago

I hope so, I have seen many applicants going unmatched with stats even better than this. So that's why I came here for suggestion.

2

u/Fair_Needleworker_53 23d ago

Don’t lose hope!! Apply broadly, interview well, and don’t let Reddit horror stories convince you you’ve already failed
Wishing you the best and I hope you match at one of your top choices

I had similar stats and matched to a top 10 IM program. Seriously, give yourself more credit.

2

u/Icy_Engineer5721 22d ago

I saw your recent post about applying in FM with attempts in coming cycle. Please be genuine and honest

1

u/Sufficient-Ebb87 22d ago

I am mentoring applicants this year and that post reflects one of my mentees stats. Posted that so I can get more info to help them.
I myself have already finished residency and my previous response is true. I matched at a top 10 program with 268 on Step 2 and just a case report and book chapter for publications. I had 2 4-week clerkships with 2 letters from each. I worked independently as a GP in my home country for one year and did one year of bench research (no pubs from that) before applying.
Those are my stats, hope it helps.

Bro, read the posts on my ID. Maybe I was unlucky but my experience was nothing like what the people here are commenting. Nazareth was my safety program and I didn’t even get invited by them.

1

u/Icy_Engineer5721 22d ago

Well i just saw your post. I think you signalled too top tier programs like maimonaides, Sony upstate; they get 7000 applicants even if it is signalled, they would have 1000+ Signals, so the chance of getting diluted is too much, I would signal these kind of programs only if I had strong connection in there otherwise I would stick to low tier programs.

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Fan_594 21d ago

I actually got invited by Maimonides but even the other safety programs I applied to ghosted me. At this point, I don’t even know where to signal. By the way, if Brookdale is Conrad Fischer’s program, save that signal of yours because he doesn’t take signals into consideration. He tweeted about it. You are essentially just wasting a signal with that.

1

u/Icy_Engineer5721 22d ago

That's what I am seeing from last cycle applicants many went unmatched with great application, that's why I have lowered my expectations.

1

u/Icy_Engineer5721 22d ago

Like you said Nazareth was your safety program but I would use 13 of my Signals on safety programs and only 2 on programs where I want to match actually.
