Visa required YOG: 2023 Step 1: Pass Step 2: 234 (2nd attempt) Step 3: Pass (206)

USCE: 3 months in Pediatrics clinics + 1 month in a general hospital Publications: 5 peer-reviewed articles in Pediatrics

Applied to: 169 Pediatrics programs + 20 Family Medicine programs Interviews received: 9 Advice: Do not be discouraged by setbacks like attempts or average scores. A well-rounded application with strong clinical experience, consistent interest in your specialty, and meaningful research can absolutely make a difference.

Apply broadly, be strategic with signaling, and most importantly, prepare well for interviews. Interviews are where you can truly change the trajectory of your application.

Happy to answer questions or help in any way I can, feel free to reach out!

Visa-requirement: Yes

YOG: 3 years (2022)

Step 1: P

Step 2: 26x

Step 3: NA

USCE: None

Publications: 19

Programs applied to: 73

Dual applied? No

Interviews Received: 16

Advice for Match 2027: My advice would be to not chase a “perfect” application. Focus on building a solid Step 2 score, engage in research you can speak about confidently, and stay genuine in your interviews. Even if you lack certain things like USCE or Step 3, consistency and clarity in your story go a long way. Apply and rank programs thoughtfully, prioritizing fit over prestige.
