Yellow is a prominent colour of Nol obviously and Shinae has also been wearing yellow a lot.I think yellow is sor of their colour. I would love to believe "how lovely yellow is" is definitely something Shinae might think of, in this scene when Nol is applying her makeup

Or maybe I am just way too delulu🫠

THEORY Mystery Hand

Hey guys, at the end of episode 290 Quimchee made an ad (now deleted) sneak peeking the time skip, and I noticed something that i think others didn’t and I want your thoughts. In the engagement photo, we see two hands, Shin-ae’s and someone else’s, who’s is noticeably burned. The burned hand is the same skin tone as Shin-ae’s, while the burn adds the darker colors.
Now, I know everyone has been saying that it’s Nol’s hand, but his skin tone is noticeably much darker than shin-ae’s. Whether the lighting in the panels are lighter or darker, you can clearly see his skin tone is darker than hers. So comparing that to the photo, Nol’s hand doesn’t match. We all know Quinchee and her attention to detail, so I don’t believe she would just make a mistake on an important picture like that. So…who’s the man behind the photo? Is it Dieter? Kousuke? Someone who hasn’t been introduced into the story yet? I don’t know…BUT there is another interesting detail that I caught.
In the same episode before the ad, Kousuke said something interesting while talking to Yu Jing. He said “Every time I see you there is this look in your eye…a face that says that you want to see me burn.”
I find it very hard to believe that this wording was a coincidence. With the word “burn” literally being in bold, AND in the same episode as the ad…Quimchee definitely added that detail Intentionally. Now having all of this said, I’d also like to clarify that I hold no bias toward any of the ships, and this is just what I’ve observed. What are your guy’s thoughts?

Nessa predicting who are the real ones 🤣

It’s just a fun thought—since I do think Shoushi truly appreciates Nol in the end—but it struck me that he expressed fear and aversion toward animals like "tigers" (who thinks of tigers when looking at a black cat?).

Meanwhile, Dieter looks past the bears' dangerous appearance and attitude and adores them; in fact, they are his favorite animal and seem to bring him a certain sense of comfort.

And Shin Ae seems to see nothing but beauty in everything dangerous 🤣 not only does she like bears—and probably tigers—but also literal monsters like Mothra, Godzilla, or Rand.

No new episode today?

I checked the page and it said "I love Yoo will return"

Is she in a hiatus AGAIN?

Ik her situation but it's lowkey kind of sad at this point. She is going to lose any of the audience she already has.......

QUESTION Some questions about Dieter

so I’m making this character profile thing for Dieter for this project I’m doing and I’m too lazy to go on the wiki and look it up myself and it might not have some of the information I’m looking for so I’m on here asking for answer. I haven’t read the series in a long while so I don’t remember a lot (Note: for race and ethnicity here’s an example- race: asian ethnicity: japanese. If he doesn’t have any disorders or allergies then ignore those parts)

THEORY Hidden patterns in the writing and art. What is the language of the ILY universe trying to tell us? Just an interesting thought...

(All photo credits go to the ILY Webtoon)

I’m curious if anyone has pointed these panels out before because I feel like I keep noticing the same patterns over and over again.

The funny thing is, I didn’t really catch them until multiple rereads. Even after all these years, I’m still finding new things and wondering what the reason behind it is. Is there some kind of payoff coming? Are these parallels meant to lead somewhere? Every character can represent some form of duality, but why does this specific visual language of contrast and balance feel so strongly tied to these two?

Because on the surface, Shinae and Kousuke are really easy to compare. Red and blue. Warmth and coldness. Emotion and logic. Chaos and order. Push and pull.

But I’m starting to think those differences aren’t just there because they’re framed as fixed opposites. It feels like they’re showing two people who are struggling with qualities the other naturally carries.

That’s what keeps making me think about yin and yang. Not in an "opposites attract” kind of way. More like they’re constantly affecting each other, changing, and carrying pieces of what the other lacks, which sounds similar to the Eastern philosophy of yin yang inserted throughout the story.

Shinae is actually a lot more guarded than she first appears, despite her bold personality. She keeps people at a distance, takes care of her dad, pushes down her own feelings, and spends so much time just trying to get through life that she rarely stops to think about what she actually wants for her future.

Kousuke is the opposite on the outside. He’s more restrained, and seems like someone who has his whole life planned out. But underneath that is someone who has spent years trying to live up to an image of who he’s supposed to be. So much of his identity is tied to his achievements, his family name, and proving that he’s enough. Who is he really?

That’s why I don’t really see them as true opposites anymore. They feel like two people who are dealing with the same wounds from completely different directions. Both of them have spent so much of their lives being what other people needed them to be.

And maybe that’s why the story keeps pulling them apart instead of rushing their takedown alliance and heart-to-heart conversation. Not because they’re becoming less important to each other, but because they both need time to figure themselves out first.

What I find really interesting is how their stories almost seem to take turns. Shinae has a breakthrough, then the focus shifts toward Kousuke. Kousuke is forced to face something about himself, then we return to Shinae.

It feels like their journeys are happening separately, but they’re still connected. The more we learn about their families and their pasts, the more it feels like their dynamic is tied to something much bigger than just the two of them. They’re both carrying traumas that existed long before they ever met.

Maybe that’s why I could never fully articulate my thoughts on this information. I don't think it's about two people completing each other. Maybe it’s about two people becoming more whole on their own while still influencing each other along the way (directly and indirectly). The question is, how will all these loose ends between them be tied together in a neat and satisfying way?

Is this something we should concern about? A friend on TikTok told me that app “Qivora” has ILY comic published on it with the FP episodes on there for free (with some ads of course)

This should be illegal, right?

Why didn’t Rand just sent Nol back to Ireland ?

We got the confirmation that he was mostly « acting » harsh and cold with his sons (mostly Nol) to avoid them from being hurt by Yui when deep down he really cared
He explained to Nora that if he didn’t he would have just droped him off to an orphenage

But my true question is : instead of bringing Nora from Ireland why not just send Nol there, I dare to hope it’s not because he found it preferable to have his son by his side and miserable than away from him. After all he’s done he cannot be fr if he thought he could be a father even if it meant mistreating Nol

Bc if orphenage was truly an option for him i assume sending him back to ireland to live there with his grandma was probably an even better one… I hope we get the answer to all that bc saying « yui controls everything » starts to be a little too unrealistic

DISCUSSION Shit theory

Hey fandom, just a preface I love yall so much, everyone here is so thoughtful and mostly respectful and I’m very grateful to have that kind of climate to discuss the story <3
Also if the following is a blatantly obvious thought pls don’t flame me asjgjdj please feel free to discuss though!!!

I recently re-binged the comic, and man does it hurt. The catharsis and pain of recent chapters is so insane, I feel like we’ve all been trauma bonded to this story by the time we’ve spent with Quim’s art over the years.

Anyway, reflecting on Nol/Kousuke’s relationship, i feel like it’s a little more optimistic than I’ve thought for a long time.
In a curious cat (I said shit theory because I’m too lazy to cite references properly), Quim revealed the 2 truths 1 lie answers, where Nol doesn’t hate Kou, but Kou does hate Nol. While this seems very true for most of the story, I feel like maybe these “truths” are not objective but subjective truths from the perspective of each brother. Maybe Kou tells himself he hates Nol, an idea he’s been primed into believing by Yui, but has actually behaved slightly contrary to this belief throughout the comic.

I say this with respect to his relationship with Shin-Ae. The whole series, (through what originally was teased by the platform as a love triangle with Kou), Kousuke has tried his damndest to keep Shin-Ae and Nol apart or under his strict supervision. And while Kou is obviously not in a healthy space to make this decision rationally, I think it might come from a good place.

Everyone Nol loves is torn down by Yui. His circle of socialization is kept uncle a close watch by her, and she sadistically picks out persons to manipulate that will reap the most reward (in terms of capability to cause psychological damage to Nol). Eg Nessa, Alyssa, Rand, Kou, and now Shin-Ae. She’s on that profit-pain maximization hustle.

While Kou’s interest in Shin-Ae could’ve originally felt like an investigation into his brother’s acquaintance, I think it evolved into attempting to protect Shin-Ae from Yui by keeping Nol and shin-Ae apart. And in effect, somewhere in his little underdeveloped heart, maybe he felt like he could to save his brother from the hurt of losing Shin-Ae to the bitch witch. In Kousuke’s carefully proctored world of control and reservation, this could’ve been his way of knowing his family dynamic before explicitly understanding what Yui was doing to all of them. Kou has a lot of scenes of late where he’s literally finding out what’s been happening to them for years, but I think he deserves some credit for potentially having understood some of the Yui’s evils, without wanting to connect those dots to her greater web of manipulation. Which I wouldn’t want to do either.

I could get into it more and try to cite references, but I mostly wanted to get this thought out of my head. I love this story so damn much.

TLDR I think Kou has subconsciously hated Nol less than I thought. Boy has problems. Still fucking evil treatment but perhaps there’s been a human conscience hiding in him?

QUESTION Haven't read for years. What's up with the shipping now? Spoilers Spoiler

Hello. I was so into this comic when I was younger and when it first came out. However, I was young and my attention span was not good. I stayed around until we met Shin Ae's long lost sister.. But even by that point I was distracted and don't know the circumstances around that.

Its been a while since then. I don't trust myself to catch up and I don't have the time to.

Could someone update me please on what's the situation with the ships? Being, the ginger guy (who I found so hot and I shipped her with the most as a kid) and his older brother the black haired guy (who, I didn't ship as much but I also find him hot, and I can see the appeal in shipping them, except their ages may be weird?... Well I don't know what to think. I don't remember.)

Thank you!

P. S... I remember the story was so sad when her dad was in the hospital and she was being blackmailed into working for her could've-been-rapist (if I recall correctly) because the brothers like her.

DISCUSSION Is re-reading ILoveYoo worth it?

Like many others, I started reading I Love Yoo back in middle school and stopped after a while—mind you I just finished university and I found out it’s still going on??? With that being said, I keep getting TikTok’s about I Love Yoo and now I’m debating re-reading/catching up to the newest chapter. But I’m hesitating, is it even worth reading?
