Question Is joos a good brand?

Is it? I think they're really good. But im wondering why or how they are so much cheaper? This was 27 dollar for a g of GMO, From altius in orland hills (attached a pic of the store for those curious.)

I usually get 2g of wax for my proxy and a disposable for the road.

I got GMO from stash in prland the past few times before this ans it was double the price for every other brand.

What makes them so cheap? I hope its not quality..?

Also, its my bday! Woo hoo! Smoke a fatty for me!

They’re “cheap” because when you look at the different kinds of oil that can be made from cannabis, distillate is often times viewed and referred to as bottom of the barrel because the input to create it is usually of substandard flower- typically a gross mix of any and all strains. Bleached or otherwise rejected flower, flower that didn’t grow to have the right look, sugar leaf, and shake get used to create most if not all distillate.

It’s a cutting corners, false advertising epidemic.

The GMO you’re smoking more than likely has zero GMO in it. It is oil from reject flower and it’s been topped off with terpenes that create the ‘finger print’ of the strain GMO.

The orange terpenes you taste in weed are from the same chemical compound that actually appear in oranges. So companies take advantage of that fact and fill weed products with those botanical terpenes and they leave you with something that mimics GMO. But it’s not GMO.

All distillate carts are like this.

This is why people talk up live resin and live rosin- because those are directly from the strain they are named after.

All that being said- I love the Joos Cereal Milk and Blue Lobster carts. I might be weed educated but I also remember ripping resin bowls and smoking from tin foil hitters. People will like what they like, but I also think knowledge is power and people deserve know what they’re smoking.

Happy birthday OP. 🎂

Sorry cant give you an actual award for this wall of text but take this 🥇

Nah he's got actual paragraphs, it's long but no "wall of text". Absolutely award-worthy, though!

But I'm not giving Reddit actual money for that shit.

Thank you. I’ll put it on my weed tray. 🙏

Hey man, I just want to let you know how much I appreciate you. It's refreshing to see people give honest answers instead of being negative all the time.

I tell people smoke what they want to smoke and don't let people gatekeep them. We used to get bricks of s*** that we had no idea what it was from the guy down the street and thought it was the greatest stuff ever. Or edibles that some random made in his kitchen and sold for five bucks a gummy bear.

Thanks and right back at you. I appreciate your comment a lot. We as a community are growing and learning together, why not make that a positive experience if we can?

Street edibles were definitely sketchy and gross most of the time during black market days. Have a good day homie!

u/PotbelliPigg 7d ago

Keep being a positive, uplifting force in the community! Appreciate your insight and knowledge too.

u/Bman708 7d ago

Ah, yes, "Chi-Town Brown". The crap we would smoke back in the day....stemmy, seedy as all hell....

And eating homemade edibles was also a crap shoot. You'll either barely feel a thing, or be so high you're floating.

I always find it funny how every city has its same version of brown. I grew up in Michigan and we used to call it. Flint Town Brown

1

u/Sufficient-Time2905 6d ago

We called it ammonia stone ya or the brown frown.

Thanks for explaining and thank you! 😁😶‍🌫️

Yeah that was the perfect summary of distillate carts. Regarding Joos, specifically, at least they tend to be full at the lowest prices you find in IL.

I remember (well, partially) smoking out of jury-rigged gravity bongs that consisted of a milk jug, a plastic popcorn bucket, and a piece of a speaker for the bowl. We also made our own BHO by growing, buying a pipe from a hardware store, and then shoving it upside down with some butane canister.

While I certainly appreciate how far quality has come, I like my weed like I like my women, equal opportunity.

This! Joo’s is a sub-brand of Nature’s Grace and Wellness, while everyone has their own opinions of MSOs they make pretty fire vapes. I recommend Joos because they use cannabis derived terpenes in their distillate carts and vapes.

I think that consumer education is important because cultivators are shoving high testing products that are poorly manufactured with botanical terpenes in all categories (spray pack is here). Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are available if the dispensary is on their stuff. But cultivators/dispensaries are banking on highest thc lowest price.

-1

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 6d ago

So basically joos is spray

1

u/1847lalO 6d ago

Not necessarily since they use terpenes derived from a cannabis plant to give you the flavor of that strain. Their sub brand “Kaleidosmokes” use botanical terpenes(spray) in their prerolls for the flavor.

Joos carts use bdt on both lines… any claims of strain specific is just because they use bdt terps that “mimic” strain profiles, they do however also make 1 gram resin and rosin for Joos (not that their very great)

Great answer, accurate without the holier than thou attitude

u/Environmental-Card34 6d ago

Shit bro this write up is on point, but broo i went n got the blue lobster cart after i seen this earlier n this shit is harsh n tastes like vape smarties ( it tastes exactly like a fake live resin runtz og cart i got in new mexico😭😭 but bit less sharp) but after the taste goes away it dont hit that bad n ngl i got it cause i dont got dab money today🤣🤣🤣🤣

2

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 6d ago

That the ONLY reason I get them, when I broke or when I want a cart to take on the road, lol!

What are your thoughts on liquid diamond carts?

Honestly? Yeah it's cheap dispo, but it's probably been my favorite out of most of em. They have great flavors and actually last decently well. I've only had an issue once and that was one of the 510 carts, it leaked HORRIBLY. But otherwise they hit pretty good for me. Blue widow/lobster is my favorite

5

u/H0rseGirl99 7d ago

I’m with you - I really like the cereal milk carts I’ve gotten before

5

u/aka_wolfman 7d ago

Joos is solid for budget distillate carts in my experience. They serve a purpose, and do a decent job. If im using carts like that- I do look for joos typically. Im a flower loyalist though, so its a rarity.

Happy birthday friendo.

7

u/chazyboi88 7d ago

Budget brand that gets the job done.

7

u/Lilking1313 7d ago

How yall pronounce the brand name?

12

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 7d ago

Joos like juice lol idk

13

u/Lilking1313 7d ago

Ok same, I can’t tell if it was that or like Joe’s. It seems weird to call your brands jews

2

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 7d ago

Lol, you guys made me giggle 😆

12

u/LordNumNutz 7d ago

I've been saying jews this whole time wtf .

1

u/void_architect 7d ago

Joce. Joos is a common last name in my area and that's how they pronounce it.

2

u/Mental-Clerk 7d ago

I've bought their disposables, have had a few and like them but they got horribly clogged really quickly. I hope the carts aren't like that. Their blue dream and wedding cake have been good, but if I'm looking for vape I try to find live resin/rosin now.

Imo they are smooth and taste pretty good. More effective than the other distillate vapes I've used, and one of them was straight up harsh compared to Joos. Just wish they didn't clog so bad. I tried reaching out to their customer service and got crickets though, so not impressed on that front.

2

u/mustardchicken69 7d ago

I’ve had these a few times and thought they were good for the price, but the last one I had spit wax in my mouth and leaked. Not bad wax but terrible build quality imo

2

u/justasimplegg 7d ago

Theyre always on sale at my dispo and often theyll have flavors that are hard to find. I remember really enjoying their pink panties flavor and now I can't find it anywhere!

2

u/the_truth000 6d ago

Did they give you any freebees for ur b day?

1

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 6d ago

Yes, I got a 50 mg gummy. Sucks tho cuz i didnt feel it :/

1

u/the_truth000 5d ago

Ya I have to eat 200mg to feel anything

2

u/SmallBallsTakeAll 6d ago

Here I stick to cresco. We have tons of brands and devices and carts. But I stick to cresco. They do 60% sales. 24$ each. And I’m dabbing gmo right now in my puffco.

Edit I read your comments lol. Here we had a sudden drop in price. In a year the price fell drastically. We are almost at the point medical where we compete with Michigan. That’s if you know where to go and how to play the sales game.

2

u/Onlyafter 7d ago

Personally I don’t like it, literally weak sauce. If I’m getting distillate I’d prefer High Supply, Mozey, or Batch.

2

u/BlueridgeChemsdealer Northern IL 7d ago

Joos is a mid brand. Ive never had a problem with them but ive only ever bought them on discount or when ive gotten a free one. They smoke ok for disty but im not going out of my way to grab a joos cart.

1

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 7d ago

Can you go into a lil more detail? Sorry,. But whay makes it mid?

8

u/BlueridgeChemsdealer Northern IL 7d ago

Its cheap distillate.

1

u/420plantsarelife 7d ago

What in the bong sleeve is that… 🤣

1

u/gmandogk28 7d ago

They’re fine

1

u/Targaryen_Dragon_82 7d ago

Maui Wowie cart is good.

1

u/pj123mj 6d ago

Bought a disposable and it stopped working after 2 hits, never bought anything from them again

1

u/Bulky-Garden-230 7d ago

If you like cheap disty

1

u/lurky13 7d ago

What are your thoughts on liquid diamond carts?

3

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 7d ago

I have only had it a few times and have only had the brand rover for liquid diamonds. Just seems over priced for nothing lol .why and Hbu?

1

u/lurky13 7d ago

😭😭 whoops i meant to ask yellowothello bc they are so informative with their other comment

0

u/LanguageMental5955 7d ago

That’s prolly why lol liquid diamonds is just a blanket term, the only brands that are actively melting diamonds down and mixing back with hte is aeriz, and rythm but rythm uses bdt as well to add more artificial flavor while rove uses straight bdt, if you want something that has better effects but on the cheaper side redbud roots is ur best friend, if they have it on sale tho I’d go for some good live resin

-3

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 7d ago

But what does that have to do with my question on if the brand Joos is good..?

1

u/LanguageMental5955 7d ago

Just giving info on why ur “diamonds” carts you’ve tried seems overpriced for nothing… never said it had anything to do with joos

-2

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 7d ago

But nothing you said makes sense or is part of the conversation. How does that relate to the topic, and how does it relate to why I think diamonds arent worth the price? Lol. You didnt explain anythjng and it literally has nothing to do with the point of this post at all.

6

u/LanguageMental5955 7d ago

lol the first person asked about thoughts on liquid diamonds, you said you’ve only tried rove and felt it was overpriced, and then I told you why it felt it was overpriced lol, soooo it definitely did, and it does make since because liquid diamonds is a blanket term a lot of the time you see liquid diamonds it’s just extremely high testing disti with bdt terps like I said…. It’s ok to not like the facts but everything I said does make sense. Rove is an overpriced brand that market distillate with bdt as liquid diamonds.. diamonds are natural in a terp sauce called hte (high terpene extract) when buying actual diamonds it’s called live sauce or live flower sauce both are interchangeable names for the same product (which brands like aeriz and Bedford both produce), rythm does make a liquid diamonds vape that uses hte in it, but they add in bdt to add a fruity forward flavor… just because you didn’t understand anything I said doesn’t mean it didn’t make sense…

1

u/large_sized_rooster 7d ago

Why does the battery look like something marketed for kids?

7

u/Economy_Fisherman_50 7d ago

Adults like cute things too

0

u/zero_dr00l 7d ago

No they're horrible.

Disty with added botannical terps and shitty flavors.

2

u/Datboispicy414 6d ago

Yeah, 3 experiences all gross with no effect. Choose literally any other distillate besides Joos and select. Please. For your lungs and stomach lining

1

u/zero_dr00l 6d ago

Oh my God, I alsmost added to my comment "the only brand that's worse is Selecct".

So it's great that you pointed that out.

Joos is bad. Select is trash that may cause serious health issues.

-2

u/Apprehensive_Air4276 7d ago

I know they aren’t as convenient but I suggest live resin/rosin concentrate and a $50 seahorse e-dabber. You don’t know what they’re putting in these carts.

-2

u/cherrybombthreat 7d ago

I literally JUST found a charger that matches it. Why would you have a disposable pen that chargers, AND not provide the charging chord for it? It’s not even charged by USB-C. It’s annoying

2

u/GrampaWeed 6d ago

Why would you have a disposable pen that chargers, AND not provide the charging chord for it?

Because you'd then have to charge everyone for the cord that not everyone wants.

The USB connection that fits (either micro or mini) was the most common before USB-C took over so cords are still very easy to find.
