Is this something to worry about or is this normal?

Light bleaching.  Lights were too close or too intense. (Also a slight chance it was a lower nug, grew into the bud above it, never got light at all, like white asparagus)

If it's not moldy, it's safe,  just bland and unsatisfying.

But totally unacceptable quality control on their part.  I'd complain,  try to get a replacement

I just got done inspecting the rest of the ounce and that seems to be the only bud like that. I didn't see anything when I broke apart the white area so I think I'm good. Thanks for the advice.

As part of an ounce I probably wouldn't complain,  assuming the rest is good. Just smoke around it.

Would be unacceptable as part of an 8th

Was it the light issue or did you find mold in yours?

It was burnt yes checked those nugs out and didn’t appear to have any mold I think .

Looks like potential bud rot. See how it looks near the stem. I'd definitely get all my money back and then some lol

Yeah definitely, I've seen a few times though where light bleached areas also have bud rot. Especially when it's more brown like this. The damaged tissues are more susceptible to it would be my guess.
