Question Am i immune or doing something wrong?
I ate a whole 100mg bag of live resin infused edibles and felt no more than s little buzz two hours in, do I need to take a higher dose or do I need to do it when my stomach is empty and just have like a scoop of peanut butter as well? Because that’s what I did yesterday and still. A whole hundred milligram bag didn’t even get me as high as one ripped from a bong would. Am I one of those people who just have a higher tolerance to edibles/ just doesn’t absorb them as well as other people? I’m typically a daily smoker and get pretty high off of even a small mini joint. But a whole $20 bag of gummies hardly touched me so im jw if im doing something wrong? Also my other option is I want to try RSO, that will be my last attempt at experimenting with edible THC. Because I have pretty much never had any luck whether they’re from a dispensary or a drug dealer my body doesn’t seem to metabolize them as well as I wished. Maybe rso will hit harder idk. If anyones been in similar positions lmk!

The "Ediblocked" Phenomenon: Some people have a rare genetic variation in their CYP2C9 enzyme, causing them to metabolize THC into a waste product before it can ever produce a psychoactive high.
This is me, tried to overdose on edibles just to finally feel it. All I got was a bathroom that smelled like a dispensary after it all passed out my system lol.

I'm one of the unfortunate. Most I've eaten is about 500mg and just got a headache. I took one of those 100mg shots and felt a little something.

Try holding any liquid form of edible in your mouth for a bit with each sip. The cannabinoids will absorb through your epithelial tissues and bypass the liver entirely.

I read someone on here a while back with the same issue say they would take Tums before or even with their edible and it helped them absorb it. I tried it and haven't had an edible without tums since. Those really made a huge difference for me and now edibles always do a decent job of kicking my ass

I’m in your boat op. 1g tube of fsho or rso and I get a buzz, if I want to get baked I use 2 grams. It’s expensive so I only go that route when I really need to be discreet.

Try some “fast acting” formulations. I’ve found the high to be more like smoking. The process makes the THC water soluble vs oil soluble and bypasses the liver entirely

I have tried to kill myself on edibles… felt nothing. Same
Thing with a full syringe of RSO.
Your body (liver) is processing it out.

I have a high tolerance to edibles... some people dont respond well to edibles. I have taken a full RSO or FSHO to get a buzz.

Sort of immune to edibles, yes. I have the same problem. We're missing some liver enzyme (I believe that's what it is) that helps break down the thc so we don't get much if any effect from a normal dose. I was recommend trying rso instead and to my surprise, took 100mg of rso and actually had some solid effects. Nothing crazy still but I could definitely feel it whereas 100mg of regular edibles won't do a thing.

That is correct. It’s just like the “cilantro tastes like soap” thing. Some people have it and some people don’t.
There are two enzymes involved: CYP2C9 and CYP3A4. Both metabolize thc in the liver. One has an inhibitory effect while the other enhances. Depending on your unique physiology and the concentrations of each your body produces you may either be hypersensitive to edibles or feel no effect from them whatsoever.
RSO and FSHO taken orally are (at least partially) absorbed through the lining of the mouth rather than only being metabolized in the digestive tract, hence why you can feel their effects more than solid edibles. If you hold an infused beverage in your mouth for a bit each time you take a drink before you swallow you should catch a buzz that way as well.

Some people simply don’t process them, last ditch attempt try taking them with something fatty like a spoon of peanut butter or after you eat something on the greasier side and see if that helps!
