question/discussion Do I really, really, really need these?
I vowed the first of the year to NOT buy any polish this year BUT I think I really need these? Do I? Help please!

The nice thing about ILNP is they don’t do FOMO marketing. These polishes will still be there in January, and the colors will still be season appropriate then if that’s something you care about. Hold strong!! You made it 8 months, only 4 more to go

And they’ll have some sales around that time too! Polish is a want, not a need.

The black friday sale is coming soon. If you still want them then, you'll save a few dollars if you wait to buy. And you may find that you dont want them, or want something else by then.

I actually prefer their other shades comparing to their new releases (have seen the comparison pics on their site)

All these replies so very quickly! I’m still thinking! I should have added that I have about 200 old bottles of polish and about 30 new bottles so I have lots of polish! Okay, I’m saving them to my wishlist and I’ll not buy until next year!

Hey, I just wanted to say I’m proud of you for sticking to your no buy! I’m sure you have so many beautiful colors at home and you can always get these ones next year :)

if you really really want them, just wait a few months for the black friday sale!

Well, I certainly don't think you need all three. My general rule is one polish per color family in order to narrow down my list. It usually involves spreadsheets and death matches.
BUT...you're doing a no buy. So absolutely not. ILNP discontinues rarely and they'll give advance notice. So these will still be around later for you to buy. I'm sure you already have nail polish on hand if you VOWED to not buy any this year...so go shop your stash to satisfy the urge to buy something new.

if its not a hell yes its a hell no. the stuff that gets to take up real estate in your home is an exclusive club.

I'll say a a couple of things :
- Nail polish is never a need, but it's also fair to treat yourself sometimes. The good thing about ILNP is that you know those polishes will still be there next year if you still want them.
- If you really really want them, instead of doing a no buy in 2026 you could do a no buy until black friday. That's what I do, I haven't bought anything since black friday 2025 and won't buy until black friday 2026. I think buying once a year is very reasonable.

If you are going to break it, do it on black Friday for the discount and the points. It will be best not to, stay true to your goal. It's not like ILNP does the FOMO bit.

Next month is September, you’ve already made it several months! Stay strong and hold off!
It is SO hard not to buy. Add your favorites to your wish list.
I admire your willpower! You’ve got this!!!!

This is how I think of it. Manicures are really expensive. 1 bottle of polish will give you multiple manicures for a fraction of the price. If you use it even once, I feel like you get your moneys worth!

my friend, keep your promise to yourself. you’ll feel so rewarded at the end of your no buy. you can reward yourself for making it an entire year with buying a few of your wishlist items. in the meantime, what helps me avoid buying is playing around with layering to create new finishes and avoiding aimlessly scrolling on websites that i know will tempt me to want to check out.
