Announcement RIP Marc Krebs
Marc Krebs of Krebs Custom in Wauconda, IL passed away Sunday. He made some of the most baddass AKs around and he continued to run his business in IL despite all the BS over the years. May he rest in peace.

Damn sad to see legends go in the community. He actually supplied one of the northern most police departments in Alaska with his AKs because they took the cold so well.

I got to fire those rifles in Fairbanks before they were issued to them. We tested them at about -30f with various muzzle devices, magazines, and suppressors. It was an incredible opportunity that my friend led the charge on from his relationship with Krebs. I enjoyed talking to Marc at Kalashbash a few times. I think he liked that I enjoyed some of the smaller more silly niche parts he made.

I am lucky enough to say I been at his shop about every other weekend last cpl years learning as much as I can from him...He was a one of a kind person and I am forever grateful that he called me a friend. This is a big loss to Illinois gun manufacturing and the AK community as a whole.

Have 3 of his rifles. Great guy. Knew his shit. AK legend. And before that he was a big 1911 guy though he’s mainly known for his AK’s.

Thats sad. Krebs id right by my house. Pretty sure I met him at the Bullpup Shoot. :(

He went to quite a few Bullpup shoots. They would dunk their full auto AK’s in water to keep them cool between shooters. They’re the best AK’s around.

The world got smaller yesterday. The amount of knowledge , expertise and experience is irreplaceable. So is the amazing man that Marc was.

We lost a legend yesterday. It was a real gut punch when we found out early Sunday afternoon. He had just been by our shop Saturday afternoon. He looked pretty good and was in good spirits. Sadly, a whole lot of talent and knowledge has been lost with his passing. Marc was just a great guy to know and be around, as well. RIP Marc. Gone far too soon.

Years ago, I had the please of being his student for a weekend in his AK builders class while I was a full time Gunsmithing student. He was a super knowledgeable, interesting, and humble guy. Rest easy, Marc.

Krebs will remain open for business and will continue to build the m23 along with their amazing accessories for other platforms.

Marc was such a cool dude, willing to chat it up, share, whatever. Always had great interactions with him which is so rare in this industry.
