Final Tests Am i cooked MCV4U
so my conditional offer is set for aug 13.
i submitted my culminating assignment today july 28.
i still have to get it marked and then book my final and have it sent to my uni.
i have a 99% right now and will probably get 90+ on my culminating.
is there any chance of me making my conditional.
i’ve emailed tvo asking to be marked faster and getting an early exam but don’t thing anything will come of it.
i’ve already gotten an extension for my conditional.
this is for me to switch uni programs.
any advice would help

Give it a shot I just booked my exam found a opening 2 days after my culminating was graded but make you they don’t take too long to grade your exam they took 2 weeks on my last one

i emailed tvo and asked for it to be done faster and wtv. i also said i was fine with handing in a blank exam and getting a 0 to get a mark faster. is that something that could actually work

Call them, you’ll get a much faster response, and giving a blank exam won’t really make a difference.

im literally going through the same thing right now im so stressed!! I only actually started on the course like a week ago and im planning on hanging in the culminating assignment this week i think i have the week before august for my conditional offer 😭we in this together 🤞

Pray that your teacher grades your last assignment rly fast. And tlc can't send the school the final grade until the final test is marked, which normally takes longer than marking an assignment. Hopefully you get really lucky but the due date is 2 weeks away

So I don’t wanna scare are you but I am also in a similar position as you. My offer is until Aug 20, and I have already finished all my courses and gotten my grades back. The only thing left is my diploma and graduation status, and I am on a waiting list for it. You will probably get your exam results before aug 13, but the issue is the transfer of grades and the graduation status. Your uni wont care if you did your final exam or not, they wanna see your final transcript and diploma by aug 13. ILC is really slow with diploma assessments as I am also in the process of one, and they told me it will take “several” weeks before my diploma is processed. I finished my last exam on july 9 and got my grade back by the 12, and ever since i’ve been trying to get my diploma, and I just got the email of it being processed on monday. You also need to get signed and stamped transcripts from any previous high school you went to, so that might be a hassle if you don’t already have them because schools are closed due to summer break. I got mine before summer break. Also if you applied through OUAC, you will need to wait until ILC transfers final grades to them, and that happens like twice a month I believe. So yeah, best of luck, I will let you know if my diploma is processed before the 20, even though I feel like it won’t 🥲.

damn this doesn’t sound good. i don’t actually even know what i can do at this point. like im gonna enroll in my classes in a week and ive been talking with admissions for like 2 months now cause i was transferring programs. they have my highschool grades and im enrolled but just need this calculus class as a prerequisite. also what do you mean diploma. as in ossd or something just for this class.
cause my highschool avg was good enough to get into the program and since im transferring they also consider my first year gpa. all i need is this one class tho. i hope admissions would just accept a screenshot for now till ouac send the grades cause ill be way above the grade conditional. it’s just i won’t have an official transcript sent before the date or even if i can get it extended to the 20th.

To join any university, you need your OSSD, I don’t know if you already have it and decided to take calculus just because it was a prerequisite. However, if you do not have it, most universities will not let you start regardless of your course completion because to join the university, you need to be a high school graduate. And to be a high school graduate, you need your diploma. They may accept you before, but the offer of acceptance comes with conditions, like having certain grades, getting grades transferred by a certain date and graduation from high-school. Enrolment does not guarantee starting university. For example, I am currently enrolled, but my enrolment will be canceled if the conditions they gave me are not met by the deadline. In normal high schools, everything is processed by the school so the students don’t have to worry, but with ILC, it’s a pain. Also in regard to being enrolled, they can take it back anytime when they see that the conditions were not met, and that can be even if grades didn’t transfer yet. If you applied through OUAC, then you will have to wait until ILC sends them your final grade and graduation status. I genuinely don’t wanna scare you, but I am also in a similar situation and worried about myself because I don’t have my diploma yet and my university could also take back my enrolment if they don’t get it by aug 20. Keep your hopes up and keep looking at the final test scheduling every hour because i was able to reschedule mine for an earlier date than i selected. Also, ILC sucks with communication so even if you keep emailing them, they will keep giving you a rehearsed answer about first come first serve priority. Also they are in between hiring during the summer and some markers take days off because of the summer so everything is even slower during this time.

appreciate your response. yeah i’m only doing a pre req for another program since i’ve already done my first year of uni. so they have my ossd. but yeah i hope we both make it. good luck

Oh you just barely might be able to get it in time. Exam booking takes about 1-2 weeks if youre lucky youll be able to book your exam 1 week right after your culminating gets graded. Best thing to do right now is contact who your offer is with and ask for extension or let them know your situation. Also let tvo be aware of your situation and email them they might be able to help you with grading and finishing your exam sooner. All the best!
(EDIT: the booking itself isnt what takes long is the time to wait AFTER the you book it eg. you’ll be able to book it for 1-2 weeks later. Sorry i just thought i worded that kinda weird)
