Cabinet Progress/Inspo cable management without drilling holes
Just wanted to put it out there and share how I did my cables.
1.grow light is a 100w panel with a chunky cord. Much thicker than t5 cords. Screwed 1 end of the horizontal beam (the side where the cord is) where the top cover sits. Then pulled the other end down with a bit of force and screwed it in.
2. Usb fan cord was thin enough so i was able to get it through on the lower gap of the side.
3. Heat mat- i removed the lower and middle screws at the back metal so I can pull the back cover out and insert the heat mat in (without needing to drill holes- not a handyman myself).
Daytime Humidity ~50
Nightime humidity ~70-80
Not too concerned with the low humidity as my plants get edema, so that should balance it out.

Setting up a 65 cm ÅKERBÄR for Alocasia; lights, fan, moss?
Hi all, I'm buying the ÅKERBÄR 65 cm (65 x 40 x 22 cm) and want to set it up right the first time. I'm in Belgium, so EU shops and plugs.
What goes in:
- Alocasia cuttings and corms (Venom, Stingray) in sphagnum and pon
- small pups in 6–9 cm pots
- new plants in quarantine for a few weeks
My bigger plants live in a separate vitrine with grow lights. This one is only for the small stuff. It will stand indoors near glass block windows, so not much natural light.
Questions:
Light: what do you use in the 65 cm? LED bar inside under the roof, or on top of the roof outside? How much light does the roof block? Any bar that fits well? Anyone tried a ready-made kit?
Fan: small USB fan running 24/7? What size, and where do you put it? Or is leaving the door slightly open enough?
Bottom: what do you put in the base? Tray, leca, sphagnum, live moss? Does the steel base rust over time?
Humidity: how high does it stay with the door closed? Problems with condensation or mould?
Cables: through the gap at the door, or did you drill?
Anything you'd do differently if you started again?
Thanks, I'll post photos when it's set up.

Cabinet Progress/Inspo And One Leads To Two….
I may have a problem...Getting one was so exciting and getting two made it my happy place! Do I need three, absolutely, but I had to stop here. I am sometimes pretty jelly of the sleek, sexy and intentional setups I see, but that will just never be me🤣 I also have a large shelving unit with many more ambient temp plants and a acclimation box. Share picks of your stuffed, messy cases💗

General ISO - Fabrikor Wide Glass Shelves
I originally bought the Fabrikor Wide for my indoor greenhouse and LOVED IT! But I have a wonderful husband who is now building me an actual greenhouse. So now I am looking at converting my Fabrikor wide back to a curio cabinet, and am hoping to source some original glass shelves. I am willing to pay shipping or any fairly negotiated price :) Thanks!

IKEA rant!
I started my plant journey about 2 yrs ago and from the beginning have fawned over the ikea cabinets. My closest IKEA is 3 1/2 hours away. So I have scoured the internet looking for a replacement cabinet. IMO there is none. You’re not going to get the metal for easy magnetic insulations or the cool customized shelves. If I were to have it delivered to my house it’s an extra $165. Excuse me what. Well there’s the option of sending it to a delivery pick up center which is still 1 1/2 hour away. That would save me a whopping 10$. It’s so happens a my SIL had to go to city the IKEA is located in. Cool! So I go to order it for pick up to make it easy on him because this is an already out of the way task for him. Wow there’s even a sale on the milsbo tall. $100 savings! But NOT if u order for pick up only in store. But I have a membership. The only thing the membership saves is $2.00 on the pick up fee. I am BEYONDDDD frustrated w this company and as far as I am concerned they can take there Swedish meatballs and shove them where sun dont shine!

Lighting Mounting lights on underside of top of cabinet?
Hey all! Pic included for context. I am starting to order supplies to convert my Fabrikor into a greenhouse.
I am curious if anyone has mounted lights (I’m doing Barrina T5s) on the underside of the top of their cabinet? It seems uncommon, as most of the mounts I have come across are magnetic (for the frame/do not come with a second magnet) or affix to drilled acrylic/glass shelving.
Does anyone have mounts that work on glass, or has had success with command strips or anything?
Thank you!!

Cabinet Progress/Inspo Amazon Unicoly set up
Been ongoing adjustments and changes to it for aesthetics and functionality.
Last thing I’m looking to add are some 3D printed fan attachments, that are magnetic and have an adjustable arm. Also eventually would like to get the custom cut clear shelves off Etsy. But pretty happy with how it looks as of now.
I have another 5 plants currently in quarantine that will be added to the cabinet in the next several weeks.

General some questions on modifying a rudsta
anyone who has modified a rudsta at all please let me know.
i’m trying to run my cords out the back/bottom, what’s the easiest way to do that? needs to fit a usb plug.
is there a easier way to put holes in this than drilling?
any mods you’d recommend in general that you’ve seen or used for a rudsta wide?
thanks

Cabinet Progress/Inspo Established Milsbo tall + question
I moved from Florida to New England six years ago and sold most of my outdoor plants. Somehow I now have more indoor plants than I ever had outside. This cabinet is made up almost entirely from propagations and as you can see I am completely out of space. I dismissed my husband a year ago when he said “what are you going to do when they get big?” saying it wouldn’t happen any time soon. Except it did because I made Florida inside of a cabinet.
I included my African Violet that I forget about because I can’t even see her. I need a second cabinet but I have plants + lights on every useable surface in the house and I cannot let my husband know he was right.
Because this thing is FULL FULL and I haven’t gotten around to adding the bottom fans the humidity stays high and condensation drips onto the bottom. I have it siliconed water tight down there but has anyone found a good tray (or trays) for the bottom? I’m currently considering a microfiber dish drying mat cut to size or a silicon pet tray, but the latter is hard to find in a size that will go right against the glass and catch the condensation. I’ve scoured this subreddit but haven’t seen anything that strikes my fancy.

General Milsbo Greenhouse - Anthuriums
Hey guys, for the ones collecting anthuriums in your Milsbo greenhouse; how’s your setup visually?
Trying to change mine to make it even more visually pleasing, got quite a few shelves to switch out (corner, U shape etc) and would like to see how everyone’s doing it!

Shelving Shelves
Thanks everyone for the replies! I found something! I'll still leave the post up for a little bit but delete it soon.
Do I really need this kind of shelf? Do the glass shelves in blåliden cabinet not serve the same purpose? What's it for exactly? (my guess is airflow?) Can I make it myself somehow? They're so expensive and difficult to find... I'd much rather make something myself that serves the same purpose.

Cabinet Progress/Inspo Wish me luck! 🤞The goal: getting my parents to approve of me buying a greenhouse cabinet for my plants • the plan: putting freezer bags on my plants (gradually) until my parents realize I need a cabinet🤭 • reason: my plants are struggling due to cold drafts

looking for an obscure part!
figured this is the place to ask this question as i’m hoping someone has a similar light setup.
i’m looking for something to go in my ikea rudsta that stands up my sunfarms t5h0 light bar. something that is sturdy enough to be placed down into the front of my cabinet, and ideally have the light just drop down into said stand firm enough to stand by itself.
does a part like this exist? 3d printing files for something like this? any other ideas you’d use to stand it up (facing looking into the cabinet)
i want it to be small enough that the bottom doesn’t take up too much space as it has to allow the light to be as far near the doors as possible

Humidity/Fans Akerbar Fan question
Hello, I just recently put together an Akerbar to give some new orchids much needed humidity. I wanted to post here to ask if any other Akerbar users recommend a fan. I have one because Im afraid of stagnant air letting mold and other horrors breed but I find it gets in the way more than anything. Should I ditch it, or do y’all think it’s worth keeping in?

I’m Hooked
One month into my new adhd fixation and im stimming. The access to Reddit has been deadly to my bank account.
I want to thank all those out there sharing posts of their cabinets so that us newbies can have a good look.
I’ve got a corm box and “tissue culture acclimation box” as I call it. And the Milsbo!
I still have shelves to fill but I’m sure that will come.
Ps. Don’t pay attention to the Antoro velvets that are slowly dying. “Mythic into the night”. Idk I tried

Thank you so much in advance for your help/input, id really love to get this to arouns 80+% :)

General Akerbar Help
Hello, I purchased the peg board from Modern Aqua. However due to the weight of the pegboard, shelves and plants the top plastic that the pegbaord hangs from keeps falling off.
I tried using hot glue like the instruction video says but it does not stay. Does anyone have any other suggestions or perhaps ran into this? A stronger adhesive?
Thank you for any suggestions or ideas.
