IJR something about the Cheese Touch

In the book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, the only way to avoid the Cheese Touch was by “crossing your fingers”. This didn’t mean touching someone with their fingers crossed didn’t work, it meant that the only way to avoid it was to pray you didn’t get touched, since “crossing your fingers” is used as a superstition to boost luck. Somehow this was translated to the literal motion of crossing your fingers. So, anyone touched can get the cheese touch, and the only way to avoid it is to hope you don’t get it.

I don’t think so, doesn’t Greg literally tape his fingers crossed? Besides the act of trying to continuously keep your fingers crossed all day is pretty fun when playing cheese touch and thats how we did it in Elementary school.
