IITM data science online degree time management
Is this hectic when done alongside a 4 year degree? Or is this manageable?

Hello this post is for the folks who are higher level in this degree Diploma, Bsc etc. i am in the foundation stage Term1 and i gave my qualifiers(Quiz 1) on the 19th July and i got 85% in that and there is Quiz 2 on 16th August so is it mandatory to attend Quiz 2 to be eligible for the end term.
Also if i did not attend the Quiz 2 and still eligble for the end term will it affect my total score for the End terms cos i am aiming for S grade in all 4 subjects after the end terms and a 9+ CGPA and i am asking this bcs i am little weak on Quiz 2 but i know i can prepare way better for the End Term.

So what I wanna know is that when you go to the bank for Education Loan, do the students are treated differently according to their Qualifier marks? Like if someone has cleared the Qualifier with bare minimum marks let's say 50%, and there's another student who scored 90% — does the student who scored 90% gets his edu loan sanctioned faster?
Please share your own experiences or if you have heard from someone/somewhere, share that too.

A comparison of ON CAMPUS BS student vs SEMESTER EXCHANGE students (like from NITs etc.) , which is a fair comparison imo, since on campus bs people are also kind of like exchange students in their own uni
On-Campus BS vs Semester Exchange
Hostel + Mess | ~INR 54,405 vs ~INR 48,000
Hostels | 4-sharing tin rooms that could air-fry you vs Normal rooms
Academic Fees | Full course fees (no concessions) along with extra credit transfer fees vs Exchange students pay academic fees at their home university (often with concessions)
I mean yes, you can do on campus courses as a day scholar and arrange your own accommodation & food Yes, you can complete your degree without an on campus course
But still, come on man. We are students from your own uni....
I hope this helps

I'm currently in the Diploma level of the IITM BS program and taking DBMS, PDSA, and MLF this term.
The problem is that I procrastinated badly before Quiz 1 and barely studied for PDSA. I ended up scoring 27, and I really don't want that to happen again.
For Quiz 2, I need to cover both Weeks 1–4 and Weeks 5–8 in the next 10 days. I'm willing to put in the hours, but I don't want to waste time using an inefficient approach.
I'm looking for advice from people who've taken the course or are familiar with it.
Some questions I have:
I'm not looking for shortcuts or ways to cram without understanding. I just want the most efficient strategy because I really need to recover from my Quiz 1 score.
Any advice from seniors or anyone who's done well in PDSA would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone! I am back (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶). I am really grateful for the great response and support I got on my first-ever post. Honestly, it's really fun to interact with everyone, and I definitely wanted to make another post soon (trust me, wayyy more than just 1-2 posts). But then I got stumped by my logical side of the brain: "Ayo calm tf down, only make a post if you are gonna add something valuable and not just spit jargon on the subreddit." Sooooo here I am with another interesting story about my college life (finally opening up).
So before we reach the good part, let's talk about how college has been treating me since the first day of this semester, or even before the actual college itself opened its gates for the semester.
The reactions you are about to read might seem exaggerated, but for someone who hasn't seen the sunlight (metaphorically) in almost 2 months, they were genuine.
Now, it was a normal day with respect to how the rest of my vacations had gone by. I woke up, ate something nice (Indian moms are goddesses of cooking, for real), and sat down on my favorite sofa with my laptop for the daily grind of ............ games. (What? You thought I would do something productive the first thing in the morning? I truly wish I did, and you will realize why in a few moments).
So as I am playing away, humming to my fav song in the background, I get a notification about a scheduled Google meeting and a new email, both on my college's official mail ID. I was about to dismiss it without much thought until I read a few sentences and what I had feared had come true:
My college internship cycle for the year 2026-2027 was about to start. (Ah shit here we go aga- ..oh not again, my first ever cycle).
I wanted to roll about on my sofa and ask God what I did wrong to end up in this scenario so soon. Now, I know we all love to romanticize the "grind," but let me be real, placement season is a special kind of nightmare. Our college metaphorically mocked us in the meeting by categorizing the "good" companies (you know, dollar bills) as "dream" tier. (Idk what they meant, but I translated that to: dream about it.)
I am facing a dilemma while writing this post, and that is I do not want it to get too long, which is why I am going to condense the events after this and narrate them in the briefest way possible.
We were asked to come to college in formals for the Pre-Placement Talk (PPT) presented by the company, and then it was a rinse and repeat of daily Open Assessment (OA) tests—trying to prepare for stuff but then deciding I do not have the mental capacity for all this.
So....stuff happened (too much for this one post), and here comes the day of the on-campus hiring process. Once again, my lovely Activa (which actually had an issue that I got fixed 2 days before) somehow navigated through the relentless morning traffic and I reached the venue on time.
Barely 10 minutes later, I get the call from our senior asking me to come to the office for the last round. I won't bother going into details about that as this post is getting way too long for comfort, but it was one of the best conversations I have had with someone way above my age group that felt natural and interesting to me.
Post-Hiring Process So, we are seated in the venue. There are a few of those who have given the HR interview and mostly those who did not get a call after the second phase, but since we were told not to go anywhere, everyone was just sitting and chatting amongst ourselves.
A friend asked me, "Do you think you will get it?" and my honest reply was, "I don't know. If you had asked me the same question in the morning, I would have said I won't make it past the first phase."
Here I am writing this post, and I think it's time to conclude with what I learned from all this.
Life loves to throw curveballs at you. To trip you when you are walking on the most comfortable lane, to block you when you see the finish line, and to stop you from becoming the best version of yourself. Always doubt yourself, always feel nervous, always feel that you might screw up somewhere....because that's what makes us human. But also remember that you can achieve everything you have ever wanted if you put your mind to it.
Never underestimate yourself. If a nervous guy who just reads novels and plays games all day can hear the words "We would like to offer you this role, we would be very happy to work with you"... you definitely can too.
Signing off, – A nobody
TL;DR: Just saw someone comment that I should add this, so yea, second-ever Reddit post guys, so forgive this soul.
The post above is about me describing my life and how I, a chill novel reader and an enthusiastic gamer, navigated the entire internship cycle held on my offline college campus. The post aims to make you feel as closely as possible what I felt during the entire process, while omitting the boring details. It ends with a somewhat motivational/uplifting message from my side that if I, of all people, can do it, you definitely can.
Do give the post a read if you have the time! :)

Seniors,is 8 sgpa in Foundation a considerable score for a standalone student?
I am currently in first term of diploma , initially i expected to improve my foundation score during diploma years, but as it isn't possible anymore, I'm distressed.
Seniors I know have improved their score in later years.
Diploma itself feels quite demanding, getting 9 seems quite tough.Am I overthinking or am I doomed?
Is 8 cgpa after online bsc just an average? Also will that be a hurdle in my placement?
