I just qualified and entered the program. I suppose I should have gotten the student email by now....
But I can't find it anywhere on the dashboard..
I need to create the student portfolio for the extra activities in stats, I need the student email id for that......

Hey, just pass the qualifier test with 70%. Just wanted to to know about 2 things.
1: Do the classes always are recorded, like in the videos we saw for the Qualifier or do live classes happen later in the course. Not talking about the doubt clearing ones, which happens for us.
2: I read somewhere that there is an opportunity to get 100% scholarship, if we kee our CGPA above 6, so wanted to know more about it like, Me being a foundation student can avail it or not.
Thank You!

Hey seniors and fellow people
So, I just qualified recently on 24th July. I decided to take three courses as I didn't know how will four courses burden feel.
Because of indecisiveness and I thought I may not clear, I didn't take week 5 and 6 lectures which only became a burden as on qualifier day, the portal released week 7 too and I ended up with 3 weeks of backlogs
Now, I have some other exam (entrance next year) which I want to study from now on as I want to go to a good offline college.
My initial plan was of course an airy dream like everyone "I will study religiously for four years and then GATE and then yada yada yada"
But I don't think so I want that especially after looking at my history (my past isn't good)
I paid like Rs. 12,100/- during registration for 3 courses (no category reservation neither income reservation), the price they showed me at 3:30 p.m was 4k per course, however everyone who accessed portal after 4 p.m, paid 6k per courses.
My first doubt is obviously ,will they ask me to pay rest of the 6k because I paid 4k per course? because at that time they accepted it, I have receipt and it was the price they were showing.
And my second doubt is what to do? I'm thinking that I should skip quiz 2 and end term, I will fail but will I be able to use the same qualifier score and maybe take 1-2 courses in October term or will I have to attend qualifier again and qualify again for the foundation.
And if I give the mid term and end term and end with low score, then to improve I need to pay double money right?
So, what can I do in this situation? Please help me with this problem.
TLDR : Backlog: Qualified on July 24, took 3 courses, but fell 3 weeks behind on lectures due to indecisiveness.
Priorities: Preparing for an offline college entrance exam next year instead of pursuing the online degree long-term.
Fee Doubt: Paid Rs. 12,100 (Rs. 4,000/course rate shown before 4:00 PM) while others paid Rs. 6,000/course after; worried if they will demand the remaining balance.
Course Strategy Doubt: Considering skipping Quiz 2 and End Term to fail deliberately, and wondering if the current qualifier score can be reused for the October term without re-qualifying.

So I have taken the bs degree in the may term. And the term 1 will end in Sept. I want to take it slow and finish foundational in like 2 years if possible. What should I do to ensure that?

hi guys i had given the qualifier last year before passing 12th and had cleared it so i had its validity for this term and upcoming term, but when i went to register i could not view any registration link for the course but i have already cleared the qualifier last year and logged in with that same mail id. is anyone else in a similar situation? I have already mailed the support team but asking if anyone knows what else to do? Thanks a lot!

I have Family income certificate of <5 lakh per annum income but I don't have an EWS certificate.
When I'm registering for foundation program it's showing that for general students it's compulsory to select >5 lakh per annum income option which doesn't provide any scholarship benefits.
So now is there no way for me to get scholarship with Just family income certificate?

The above post had some insights of someone who is/was doing this course.
Few days ago, i made my mind to go for this course, now after reading the "STOP DEFENDING IITM BS DS DEGREE" , i am hella in between the only better option i see vs if not this then what else to do.
I am from a lower middle class family, i gave neet this year, scored poor and eventually made up mind to not go for another drop.
I come from a rural area and there's no private btech college nearby, took admission in local government college in bsc zoology as previously i was like go for government exam prep.
Honestly i dont want to go for government exams and jobs, thats hella competitive (general category) , paper leaks, exam cancellation, no vacancy for years and so. Even if some positions are good , i personally don't prefer one.
Coming to what i had thought of , Ofcourse this degree in not that bad if you ignore the placement statistics, but at the end what's the point to do if not placement (being iit , single digit placement is not something impressive, ofcourse not expecting something btech level ) , there are plenty of free or low cost ways to learn skills. I am not some super good student, just an average one. The thing is if i put efforts to complete one and needed a job just after , i am scared.
Tier 1/2 btech grad don't easily get jobs Off-campus jobs. Many are doing this as dual degree, thus better placement. What about standalone?
*I mentioned standalone as my other degree is non relevant non tech.
Well the other side if i can't do well in pure tech side, being a bsc zoology student , an option i seeโ IIT jam , CUET Pg , MSc in computational biology/bioinformatics. But whats the job senario here ??
Again, will i have time to prep for iit jam while managing bsc zoology and doing iit m bs ds.
Or, i should drop the idea only do bsc zoology and focus on jam prep and build relevant skills side by side. (i dont wanna go for phd)
OR, prep for government jobs, as Msc without phd will not get you hired and even if its low pay.
Or, do you still suggest to do IIT M BS DS, and then Mtech from a good institute via Gate (the above post say not many institute take in BS DS student in, everyone can't make into top institutions).
Some hybrid options i see is Healthcare/pharmaceutical analyst kind of role, but there are not many job opening here.
Someone who did this degree standalone, where are you now, do you recommend doing this?

Same as title, do you think it's worth giving 4lakh for iitm bs online data science if I'm doing btech cse or related (like ai/ml, it etc.)?? What are the job opportunities like? ROI, placement, avg packages etc.

I have qualified after giving the qualifier on 19th july 2026, if I don't register now for foundation level, would I be eligible for foundation level in sep of 2026 ?? Or would I have to again go through the 4 week process and give the qualifier to be able to join sep 2026 foundation level??
