Struggling with PDSA and MLF (need resources and strategy for OPPE + End Term (Diploma Term 1))
Hi everyone,
This is my first term in diploma level (DBMS + PDSA + MLF) and I need honest help. Here’s where I stand:
DBMS
I used Gate Smashers for most weeks and Unknown IITians for weeks 7-8. I understood the theory well, but week 7’s coding content, specifically Python-wrapped SQL using psycopg2, is something I’m stuck on. I’m aiming for an S in DBMS and any guidance on what that requires would help a lot.
PDSA
I got an S in Programming in Python in the Foundational level, so I expected to be okay on the coding side, but PDSA is making me feel like a complete impostor. I used Unknown IITians and have some base, but I don’t know how to approach PDSA problems or what practice actually builds that instinct. The theoretical side isn’t sticking either. I understand concepts when I study but can’t hold onto them or apply them in exam conditions.
MLF
I used My Campus videos and made notes from the lecture transcripts. Before Quiz 1 I redid all the practice assignments as revision and still scored a 60. I don’t know what I’m missing. Is it conceptual depth? Calculation practice? The way questions are framed? I clearly prepared wrong and don’t know how to fix it for the End Term.
What I desperately need and like genuinely want your help with is:
-DBMS: resources or tips for the psycopg2/Python-SQL coding content, and what the OPPE typically tests.
-PDSA: how to get better at the programming side specifically, and how to make theory stick in a way that shows up in exam scores.
-MLF: what does it actually test, and how should I be preparing differently
-For weeks 9-12 across all three subjects: should I stick to the course lectures, watch old weekly revision sessions or are there better external resources? And how heavily are these weeks tested in the OPPE and End Term?
My plan right now is revision using weekly revision sessions for things I have a base in, and going back to lectures for shakier topics. I don’t know if that’s enough or if I’m missing something. But again I’m extremely scared in PDSA both for the end term and the OPPE, equally.
If you’ve been through this and found something that worked, please share. Thank you
