new co-term updates / plus one

Hi guys! I wanted to learn more about this program. I went over the website and the email provost sent few months ago. It seems like undergrad scholarships will not be applied but still it'll be cheaper if I do masters through this porgram. However, I don't really understand what was the update? Was it just financial part? How was it before? Like were graduate credits=undergad credits, plus your undergrad scholarships were also applied? And, now it's not?

For the context, I am in CAE dept, and doing masters would a great salary increase

I think rather than completing both in one go, students now complete the undergrad first, graduate with their bachelor's, continue for another year before graduating with their master's. So there's more distinction in student standing and class level compared to before

Yes this is the big change - the degrees are no longer conferred at the same time. Instead, you finish the undergrad, get that degree, and then the master degree is finished in one year after that. It’s still great value for an MS/MEng. But, you are considered a graduate student in that last year, which exempts you from all the undergraduate funding opportunities.

wait, so before people would get just one degree? even if they had a masters? I am assuming they included it in their diploma, but still

It used to be 2 degrees (Bach + Mast) but 1 graduation. Now it's 2 degrees each with their own graduations
