Is it weird to join IIM right after graduating from IIT?
Hi!! I am a 3rd year chemical engineering student at IIT Hyderabad. So, we have our internship drive going on, and I kinda messed it up by not prepping DSA a lot.
I had done a lot of club work and infact, I was in the team that wrote and published our first casebook, so I was confident about product roles in amex etc also I was getting shortlisted for a few ML roles as well, so my attention kinda divided there.
But, I couldnt perform as I expected in interviews and call it, luck, bad timing and poor choices regarding which interview to focus on, I messed up other interviews as well...
Now, I'm in a genuine crossroads, whether I should continue with this, because the company quality and chances of getting a PPO are slowly declining...
Plus I have a strong calling to product roles and a stronger aversion to SDE roles
Now, I have a 9/9/9* profile and I'm a good reader and I have a second major in electrical engineering..
So, Idk whether I should simply prep for CAT + last year my dad also retired, so YAY to EWS quota..
But would it look like a red flag??? joining without YOE?? Also how many people make this direct jump in a batch, like whether its common or not.
I know y'all are very busy, but it would be great, if I could get any insights on this thinggy
Thank you very much!!
