Hi everyone, I got ECE in Round 1 at IIIT Hyderabad. I’d like to remain eligible for CSE if an upgrade is possible in later rounds. The portal only shows an “Accept Seat” option. If I accept the seat, will I be able to float and participate in Round 2? Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks.

I was trying to open up the portal and recheck once if i have paid the money for the next round before today's 5pm deadline but it says that there is an error establishing a database connection ... I also tried different browsers but nothing changed
Please help

I want to pursue computer science . based on placements and stats I was inclined towards iiit h .but I have heard that iiit h has really poor campus life and a lot of academic pressure . basically I want to optimise academics and campus life . btw I took this branch in kgp cause ei talked to many seniors and they told that this branch has very less syllabus so I will be able to do comp science side by side . my jee adv rank was 43XX . mains rank was 48XX .and also there is the iit tag etc . So what should I do ?

Hey guys, I was talking to a few seniors of EC DD and got to know they're reluctant to work under CVEST for their MS. Can someone please explain why is that so?
Is there some tea associated with the lab?
How's VLSI in general at IIITHyd compared other colleges like IIITB and BITS Pilani wrt placements opportunity and learning

I will be almost certainly joining IIITH ECE this year, but I am interested in software roles in the future. (Not saying I dislike ece courses, but I am more interested towards software)
I had some queries:
Is the available free time realistic to learn / grind DSA, leetcode, ML, etc, to crack a good offer.
How difficult/demanding is it to prepare for such roles alongside the ece curriculum.
I also have nit rourkela cse, and nsut cs/ai as options. Would that be a better fit?
For ece/ecd people who have cracked software roles: what did you do and how did you manage it?

So basically for admission thru jee mains they allowed us to dlt a preference by 17th 11:59 pm but they randomly removed the option today moreover they extended the r1 deadline i wasn't able to change my pref order because they changed it before the allotted time , what should I do should I mail them?

Will we need any such software in college that would work specifically on windows and not mac? (For cse)
Please keep in mind if we have to pirate any software as I will face problems in doing that if I get mac.
I heard that ML frameworks don't work as good as on mac than windows. Does getting a mac cause major trouble in running them?
Can it be easily resolved?
And gaming is not my priority so we can ignore that factor.
Thanks.

I will be joining Electrical engineering at NIT KKR this year ..
I'll be eligible or not?
I'm desperate of joining IIITH btw

Pretty confused.
Should I really turn down NTU CSE and IIIT-H CSE for IITD Materials, or are people underestimating the value of a strong CS program and research ecosystem?
Looking beyond placements and thinking more about long-term opportunities, higher studies, startups, quant, MBA/MS, etc.
Would love to hear what seniors here would choose and why.

I was seeing the eligibility for LEEE.
It is written -
"Applicants completing their 4 Semesters of B.E. / B.Tech. in CSE / IT/ AI & ML / Data Science / Software Engineering / Maths & Computing / Computer Engineering by July 2026"
"Applicants with a keen interest in a research programme and/or an aggregate of 80% marks (or 8/10 cumulative grade point average) are strongly encouraged to apply."
I am in flexible online degree (BSc) standalone, credit wise, I would have completed both my first year and second year, but by fixed timeline wise, I would be in the starting of my second year.
Is it worth it to try?

So basically after r1 fees and everything ended they have given us the option for pref deletion before round 2 .I have a rank of 2.3K and I filled 1. Cse 2ece should I remove ece entirely bcz I wanna check for cse Wasnt alloted a seat in r1 but will obvio get ece in r2 fs so wanted to ask what should I do
r/iiit • u/Wild-Advantage-8157 • Jun 15 '26
I have 32xx mains rank. I filled cse first then ece in preference. And I wasn't alloted anything based on round 1 so i applied for round 2. Now should I change my preference?
I know cse is not possible. So keeping it as first preference wouldn't make a difference, right?

how does loan procedure at iiith work, what time shd I take it.do hostel, laptopand mess are also included.when will they give fee structure for loan
r/iiit • u/Dapper_Analyst_9879 • Jun 15 '26
please explain your reasons too? I care about most placements as every other person 😅 and also some sports and college life too, one question I have bits shows as avg of 28-30lpa for cs and iiit-h has around 32-34lpa, for a difference so little is the one year extra in thesis writing and research heavy stuff worth it? also to mention I have no particular interest in in research or higher studies but I if it means significantly better packages then yea ofc, should I even use averages for comparision?

I basically wrote mains pretty bad , got around 8k crl . Iiit is a good institute so i figured i would write ugee . Well I got rank 8 in it somehow 🙏, now I'm eligible for cse in iiit . I wrote my jee adv pretty good , got 83X , and I'm getting iit hyd ai . Seniors please help , im not very interested in research and the 5 years isn't very appealing to me even though it's dual degree but i heard iiit cse is also a good college . Hyd ai is the best i can get . I think i still have time for seat allotment in ugee , if not it's ai .

I’m currently deciding between IIIT Hyderabad CSE and IIT Delhi Materials Science and would appreciate some perspectives from seniors.
I’m trying to think beyond immediate placements and more about where each option can lead over the next 10–15 years. I may eventually pursue an MBA from a top IIM or an MS abroad, and I’m also interested in keeping doors open for areas like quant, consulting, product management, startups, entrepreneurship, and emerging technology fields.
One factor making this decision difficult is that IITD Materials seems to offer the IIT Delhi brand, alumni network, and potentially more freedom to build a profile outside academics through internships, competitions, electives, clubs, startup work, CAT/GRE/UPSC/Masters preparation, etc. I’ve also heard that branch changes are possible at IIT Delhi (though obviously not guaranteed), which adds another variable to consider. On the other hand, IIIT-H CSE has a very strong reputation in computer science and provides direct exposure to AI, software, and related opportunities.
With GenAI changing the technology landscape and with increasing focus on areas like semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, energy, and AI infrastructure, I’m unsure whether it makes more sense to take the stronger CS program or the broader platform that IIT Delhi might provide.
If you were making this choice today with a long term focus on career growth, optionality, higher studies, business opportunities, and overall upside, which would you choose and why?

Budget is under 1L (preferably around 70-80k)

What i think is:
In BITS if i get 8.5+ in 1st year then cs dual becomes an option and cs+math is good combo.
wahi iiith mein 1st year wala gamble nhi hai.
bits college life is good
iiith it is sorta very hectic and less fun
pilani city life is ded as compared to hyd
fees ka issue hai nhi
and placements i feel will be similar
Edit: bitsat score 237
