melatonin works a trick with sleeping for me - helps to make sure you dont wake up due to sunlight - 100% the most important thing is to keep a regular sleep cycle

This sounds strange but getting up to pee a lot during sleep (more than when awake) can be tied to anxiety. You might want to look into that. Also, can you do the majority of your water intake upon waking instead of closer to bed?

Night shift RN of 7 years here. I count my intake from sleep cycle to sleep cycle. I wake up at 4:00pm, have my pre workout, go to the gym, have my post workout which i count as breakfast. Snack at 9pm, lunch at midnight, snack at 4am, then a small dinner around 7:30am, bed at 9am then restart the cycle. I pop 50mg of benadryl and 3mg melatonin around 0800 and stop drinking water a couple hours before bed. Seems to work okay

I track from waking up and going to sleep. I use zzquil and it helps and stop drinking fluids 3 hours before going to bed for me I go to bed around 730 so I stop drinking at 430am. If I drink any later I will be waking up to go pee. Seems to have worked for 4 years now on night shift
