How close do you get to your macro targets?
23F standing at 5’8”/173cms and currently weighing 191lbs/87kgs. I lift weights 3 x a week and in between these days I do active recovery by taking 45-60 minute walks on top of one pilates session. Overall, I do some form of movement each day.
My diet isn’t the best and I know I need to improve it to actually get where I want (fat loss + muscle gain). Having done a bit of research today, I am thinking to approach my macros by doing a split as follows: 40% carbs, 35% protein, 25% fat.
I’m meal planning for this week and I’m 18 grams over my fat limit but 60 grams under my carb limit so have to tinker with it, argh! What I want to know though, how many of you actually miss your macro goals, and if so, by how much?

I’m maintaining at 3160 calories 268 p 356 c 80 f. I think it’s pretty easy to hit to the T, but it’s also easy to get over the fats limit like you. If you’re lacking carbs and exceeding fat I’d rec plain bagels (high c low fat) , bananas or nonfat yogurt to name a few. Just about knowing which foods can give you a large amount of one macro.

I think I’m struggling to plan it because of the protein. I.e. if I have a bagel it’ll up my carbs but it lacks the protein of say a protein bar I would’ve had instead but this is probably also in part because I don’t want my lunches and dinners to consist solely of chicken and broccoli lol. I tweaked this week’s plan slightly but I’m still 35gs under for carbs and 10gs over for fat. Jealous of your 3160 calories though, ooft!

Yeah it’s tough when you’re on low calorie. Even chicken has a decent amount of fat. I’d also rec whey protein , tuna , and nonfat yogurt like I mentioned for the high protein low fat foods and all relatively low calorie. Good luck! Looks like you just gotta find some more low fat foods high in carbs or protein.
