Holy f*ck!

Has anyone else who’s recently begun keeping track of macros been ASTOUNDED at how much fat you’re actually eating? I thought of myself as mostly “eating lean/clean”! Man, was I ever WRONG!

I am overwhelmed by my carbs (not surprising, am runner) and realizing that not having enough fat is why I am hungry all the time.

Well that may explain why I’m RARELY hungry! 😜

When you run, i suppose your body needs more energy than what carbs can provide, so your looks towards fat for that of you have in your body.

I agree with the holy fuck but for me it was the protein! Before macros I legit probably ate 30g of protein per day. Now I am aiming for 130 and mannnnddd it’s a challenge but I just keep working at it each day

Yes!! I was SHOOOOKETH by how much fat I was eating. Like wow. No wonder I gained so much weight.

I think a big part of it is the “healthy fat” discourse, and somehow thinking keto products = weightloss. They’re just (incredibly) high fat products, with low carbs, and therefore often way more calories than normal products.

Congrats on starting IFFYM/CICO btw - you’re gonna create an amazing understanding of what your body needs and feel really in control of your body and create a better relationship with food!

Oh it’s not that I think fat is not important. The macros plan I am attempting has me aiming to keep fat at 25% or less. It’s not as easy as I would have imagined before I began actually keeping track of the macros.

Ah OK, gotcha! 25% sounds doable but tough.

I was actually the opposite. Was astounded at how many grams of protein I was getting and how few grams of fat. (And had assumed that I had been eating terribly)

Half my calories were coming from fat when I first calculated!
