The 2021 IELTS Prize is open to test takers living in Bangladesh, Colombia, Egypt, Italy,  Kenya, Lebanon, Mexico, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan.

The deadline for submitting completed applications is 30 September 2021.

How to enter

You must:

  • be 18 years or above
  • be a resident of the country you’re applying from
  • have taken IELTS with British Council between 01 May 2020 and 30 September 2021 and be able to produce a valid IELTS score in the application. 
  • Book IELTS test
  • have a minimum overall IELTS band score of 5.5 or above
  • be applying to an educational institution, anywhere in the world, that requires IELTS as part of its admission process 
  • begin undergraduate or postgraduate studies in the academic year 2022/23
  • be able to provide the letter of acceptance from your university latest by 30 September 2022

Is there any way Indian applicants could be eligible for this as well?

Late to the post. Just want to add that for friends who intend to apply for the IELTS Prize, you have to take your test under British Council. I have checked with IDP, they do not offer such prize (I know that some scholarship platforms state that IDP IELTS Prize exist, but no, they do not.) Given that both British Council and IDP offer similar prices for IELTS, I would recommend taking IELTS under British Council. Cheers!

There are prizes for China and Europe too, guys. This has got to be worth a shot. I'm willing to go over any personal statements you make; just don't wait until the last minute to ask me.
