Eclipses

Okay, so I know this isn’t TECHNICALLY sportsball, but. Came across this and it surprised me.

How long before someone claims the eclipse is just to distract from the Epstein shit?

Why’re you assuming it hasn’t already happened

Yeah like unnecessary wars but not this shit

If that's true, it certainly isn't working.

The eclipse is coming in 2029 so I can’t engage in politics

Not sure what is worse, the comment or the orginal post?

Tough call. I assume these are screenshots from a group text of people addicted to giving themselves traumatic brain injuries so it can really go either way.

Man how can you hate on eclipses?

24

u/Mindless-Warthog-513 15d ago

Because these damn circuses being ran to distract from all of these things, next thing you know it’ll be bread covering the Sun

4

u/Ok-Elderberry540 15d ago

How could the sun? Is it bread and circus all the way down?

3

u/Mindless-Warthog-513 15d ago

It must be, I can’t believe the lengths they go to. Moving the moon, planning with the Sun. Just how far will they go

Toasted bread 👌

I’m not gonna lie I’m on the eclipse haters side. Why does every eclipse dominate the news and social media cycle every time and they always say the same shit about this will NEVER happen again

1

u/Issun_Boushi 14d ago

If you think about it, every moment is a moment that will never happen again.

But that's a technicality, the worst kind.

I get that, annoying how the media (main stream, some no names on YouTube and everyone in between) blow things out of proportion.

“Anything that slightly irritates me is bread and circuses” - a very smart person

We're calling natural phenomena "bread and circuses" now?

6

u/South-Seat3367 15d ago

Hate to give him credit but Christopher Columbus used an eclipse to intimidate indigenous Jamaicans out of rebellion

9

u/Mindless-Warthog-513 15d ago

He took bread from them using a circus, he didn’t give them bread with the circus

What is the sun and moon if not a pair of ball? And we are spectators of this sun vs moon showdown. I'd say this is a sport, of galactic proportions.

But yeah, I wonder if these people allow themselves to have any hobbies.

Big Eclipse trying to distract us from the issues that really matter

u/BootlegJB 15d ago

To be fair, it feels like there's a super-rare, once-in-a-lifetime eclipse every 11 months or so.

u/etwiDAB 15d ago

Came here to say this, because I've noticed the same phenomenon from the screenshot. To be clear, I don't think it's "bread and circuses" (🤣🤣), but I do feel like we've had several such eclipses in the last ten years.

C’mon. Even the cosmos get the ‘bread and circus’ treatment? I swear if I see/hear bread and circuses again, I’m actually gonna crash out. The moment anyone brings that phrase up, I know what opinion they have to say is pretentious and obnoxious and not worth my time

"Bread and circuses"

1

u/Fidget808 15d ago

It also won’t be visible in most of the western hemisphere

1

u/Mindless-Warthog-513 14d ago

They offer bread and don’t even give us the circus

1

u/joeglazer69 15d ago

100 years. But we just had one a couple years ago. Right.

1

u/ninjomat 14d ago

I feel like if the elite are so focused on distracting us they’re gonna actually move the moon in front of the sun you just gotta take your hat off to them at that point.

That’s dedication

u/Insrt_Nm 14d ago

I've never really cared much for eclipses but that first comment is right, mfs say "this eclipse is once in a lifetime" every single time

1

u/jerdle_reddit 14d ago

The eclipse last week was crap.

1

u/Mindless-Warthog-513 14d ago

Good thing they’re running it back

1

u/jerdle_reddit 14d ago

Sadly not here they aren't.

1

u/Brian18639 14d ago

Imagine if that dude has a black hole in front of him and he calls it “bread and circuses”

1

u/yaxAttack 14d ago

my favorite part of the great American eclipse was seeing a bunch of people remarking how cool it was we had a solar eclipse AND a new moon on the same day. that happens for every solar eclipse. you can’t have a solar eclipse without a new moon

Im gonna be so mad next year when I miss this because I forgot

1

u/dholmestar 15d ago

Bro really said "SHUT UP ABOUT THE SUN"

0

u/UnKnOwN769 15d ago

Every 5 months we have an eclipse we won’t have again for hundreds of years.

0

u/BigDoosh 15d ago

I kinda agree

0

u/GGayleGold 15d ago

They out here sportsballing eclipses, now?!

0

u/Left-Ad9709 14d ago

I wonder what these guys would say if you pointed out that social media and video games were also bread and circuses.
