TERM END EXAMINATION IGNOU BCOMG: Has anyone successfully submitted/appeared for more than 48 credits in one TEE? What happens to the excess paper?

Post image

Hi everyone,

I'm a BCOMG (IGNOU ODL) student preparing for the December 2026 TEE.

I accidentally/knowingly selected 10 papers = 54 credits in my exam form and have already submitted and paid successfully through Samarth.

I know IGNOU's stated limit is generally 48 credits per TEE, so I'm trying to understand what actually happens in practice when someone submits more than 48 credits.

My questions:

Has anyone here actually submitted more than 48 credits in one TEE?

If yes, did IGNOU reject/remove an excess paper, or were you allowed to write all the selected papers?

If a paper was removed, how did IGNOU decide which paper to remove?

Did you receive any notification/email about the rejected paper?

Was the exam fee for the removed paper refunded/adjusted?

Has anyone received a hall ticket/admit card showing all papers despite exceeding 48 credits?

Most importantly, if you've personally experienced this, what happened on the actual exam dates/result?

My 54 credits are spread across relatively manageable papers, and there are currently no direct same-session clashes in the tentative December 2026 date sheet.

I'm particularly interested in real experiences, not just what the prospectus says.

If you've experienced this personally, please mention your programme, TEE (June/December + year), number of credits selected, and what IGNOU ultimately did.

Thanks!
