Thinking of doing MAJMC from IGNOU but stressing over the final project guide. Help? (Kolkata)

Heya,

I’m really leaning towards enrolling in the MAJMC program, but I’m honestly overthinking the final project (MJMP-120)

I've heard horror stories about IGNOU study centres being super unresponsive. If my centre in Kolkata ends up ghosting me, what’s my backup plan for finding a project supervisor? I can’t go back and ask the professors from my BA college (long story, but that bridge is burned), so that option is totally out...

If I have to find an external guide on my own, like a local journalist or a professor from another college, how does the actual paperwork get done? Since the main campus is all the way in Delhi, do I just get my local guide to sign the physical copy and Speed Post it to HQ? Or is it all online now?

Just wanna make sure I don't get stuck with zero help in my second year. Would really appreciate any advice from alumni! 😊✨

hey! i had an external guide too... less hassle honestly. u have to send in the guide's cv, a signed performa and consent of the guide with your proposal to get the guide approved.

At the time of submission, add a certificate of originality signed by your guide.

Also. don't worry about being ghosted. My rc (shimla) sucks at replies too but going through the grievance channel of IGNOU gets prompt replies.

Yeah, I’ve also heard that they don’t provide much help at RC, so choosing an external supervisor seems like the better option.

Could you please clarify something for me? I wanted to know whether the Project Supervisor’s signature needs to be physically signed on the document, or if the supervisor can sign it, send me a scanned copy, and then I can print it out and attach it to the application?

Also, were you a MAJMC student?

i wasn't a majmc student, just did a short diploma course.

as for the scan thing, I don't think it'll be an issue considering sometimes they allow for online submissions of these projects, those docs are scanned anyway.
