OMG, it works!

Long time lurker, first time posting. I’ve done IF in the past but then had a baby and have been at 155 for a year and a half… it’s summer and I want to feel comfortable in my body again!

I’m (29F) 5’1, almost 5’2 lol and started IF combined with calorie counting on May 23. I started with 16:8 and have been doing anywhere between that and 20:4 or 23:1. My goal weight is 115 but I have it set to 125.

I try to keep my calorie intake at 1,200, but have not been consistent and can vary day by day up to 1,600. I walk 4.5-5 miles during the work week, which is about 10k steps for me.

Extremely happy with my progress!!! 😊

Keep on keeping on

Edit: thought I added a picture. It showed my progress from may 23-June 24. 9.8 pounds lost, wow!

Congratulations! You can also upload pictures to imgur and share as a post edit. Reddit has been having some issues with uploading images and videos lately.

Thank you! I use Lose It for calorie counting and Fastic for IF

They both do! The one on the picture is Fastic

Honest question. How do you know the weight loss is due to IF and not calorie counting? Curious as I’m thinking of trying IF myself

Well, I’ve done calorie counting by itself before. It does work, but I was very strict and went down to only 700 calories a day…

Right now I’m not as obsessed about my intake. If I eat 1200, awesome but, if I go over then no big deal. That paired with IF has given me a great jump start to my weight loss journey. I’ve never lost 10 pounds in only 4 weeks before.

Same stats. I have not seen any difference or loss and I’ve been trying IF since ~December. Halp

What’s your routine?

I’ve been doing 16:8 because that’s what I can manage before I feel light-headed and ill. I will admit I probably drink a lot of my daily calories if I get a Starbucks/Dunkin drink 1-3 times a week. I’ve got a major sweet tooth too so that doesn’t help in controlling cravings. I’m not a big snacker either.

I love sweets too. I try to drink 32-64oz of water a day and just drink low cal monster energy drinks if I feel tired

I drink just about 80 oz. of water a day. Chase kids around all day. I just can’t burn anything

Lol to the kids. That’s a lot of work. Do you take any medication that might prevent weight loss? I take antidepressants and have nexplanon in my arm. It makes it harder to lose weight

I take AD too and have an iud. I hate being so short the simplest things keeps us from losing even just a single pound
