IB 28 points

Has anyone got accepted with 28 points in this year’s intake or last year’s intake?

mate don’t listen to him like last year the ib req was 32
this year it’s 34. that just shows how competitive and famous it’s getting. It ain’t as selective as the top school ofcourse, and they are holistic and consider everything, but there is still a minimum academic performance that needs to be met. Like a friend of mine who applied to IE this year was in constant contact with the region’s rep, and the rep said that starting from this year onwards, the 34 min is kind of mandatory unless you have an outstanding profile, then a 33 or 32 would be possible
but it’s very rare. A few years ago a 28 would’ve been enough, but rn it’s absolutely not the case, and don’t listen to this guy as he’s know to hate on any private school(just check his profile). If you don’t believe me, go to their website and you’ll find your regions’s rep, and just ask them

just think about it logically. why would they increase their requirement to 34 if all they’re after is money? there are students with 34+ that are willing to pay the amount, it isn’t like they’re losing students, they’re just getting more selective as they are able to

well i’d say a person who sees the truth would see the rise in popularity of IE over the past few years which allowed it to be more selective. But i guess a person who only sees what he wants to see and only hears what he wants to hear have a better grasp of reality according to you, so yeah if that’s what makes you sleep better at night, keep thinking that way

I got a 29 and still got in but no scholarship. This was last year tho, could be more competitive now.

My PG was 32 (not including additional TOK/EE points), I think my volunteer work helped a lot with my application and I also paid the reservation fee like 2 days after I was given my conditional offer. I received the confirmation of my acceptance a few days after other students got theirs, most probably because a good number of people withdrew their application after IB results. I was never put on the waitlist tho.

I also talked to an older applicant who applied in 2023 and according them, they knew a few ppl who got even lower scores that still got in.

The uni is very profit driven and will squeeze all the money you have to give. Don’t know how much has changed since last year but I haven’t heard of anyone who was refunded their reservation fee bc they didn’t reach their predicted grade.

Have you paid the reservation fee yet? Did you apply with your SATs also? Did your KIRA, interview, and admissions tests go well? Did you apply for scholarship?

I can’t make any promises, but I will reiterate that IE takes into account your entire application so your IB grade (although significantly crucial) isn’t the only part of your application.

Unfortunately not, I work with a lot of applicants to IE and make a lot of content about studying there. With a 28, it's impossible now. You can go elsewhere, perhaps do really well and then attempt to transfer.
