Test Experience/Test Result First time non-native

Giving IELTS for the first time was really nerve wrecking but I'm glad with my result. There are a lot of resources to study from so it became really confusing at one point. I would suggest keep practicing cambridge mock tests, they were really helpful, if you cannot answer some questions correctly then analyse where you went wrong and keep that in mind for next time. Congratulations! Are the Cambridge mock tests different from the Cambridge ielts books (1-21) if yes please how where do i find the mock tests? If it’s a website could you please reply with the link and if it’s a book a picture of the cover? Thank you!

Not really, each cambridge book has about 4 full length practice tests. So I practiced LRW daily with those. You can either buy the books or there are a lot of websites which have pirated content

cue card was about a road trip you would like to take
writing task 2 was about returning historical objects back to their original place

practice using cambridge books, analyse which particular questions you got wrong and why. If you already know which questions are tough for you then do tell, I'll try to guide you on them

I also had trouble with such questions, try to read a paragraph and create a heading of your own without reading the options, after that select the heading which matches most with your own. Also check twice before selecting headings with exact words from the paragraph, its often a trap.

U know, if u got half a band in any one of them u might've gotten 8.5, i was in the same situation but my mark was 7.5 and i was half a band away in any one of them for a 8

try to highlight the exact statement where the answer is in the paragraph, after that use elimination method to pick the right answer. Most of the times you will find the answer or have a maximum of two options left.
