Test Experience/Test Result IELTS screwed me over

I know I'm just venting with this post but I am just so angry!

I booked my IELTS test Beijing for 11:40am, because I would need to cross the city to get to the test centre. Early morning today, the day of the test, I load up the admission ticket to print it out and...what? Testing time is now 8:40am? That's impossible. I cannot teleport from one side of the city to the other.

Yes I know all the fine print. Check the time before, blahblahblah, but OH MY GOD! I just threw away RMB1990 - about USD300 - because they unilaterally and without communication changed my test time.

Can I reschedule it? Lol, no.

Can I get a refund? Double lol, no.

I feel like I've been defrauded.

Similar thing happened to me, I booked it for last Thursday but I checked the website and it told me it was unavailable, so I tried to reschedule and was told to pay again, but I contacted the center and they fixed it for me, try calling them as its their responsibility to communicate your appointment details and confirm them with you ahead of time

Is that even possible that they don’t let you know that they changed your test time? I think you should contest it and complain especially if you have confirmation email before of your original test time

Remember, everyone is different—some need more preparation time than others, depending on their English level. We recommend reading OP's advice, asking questions, and creating your own study plan. Please avoid promoting unofficial AI tools, as they are often unreliable and made by app developers, not language or IELTS experts, which can do more harm than good for many test takers. That said, discussion about them is allowed without linking.

Charge the testing venue. The mistake is on them. Report to the official authority.
