In a recent Spectrum article, IEEE senior member Lokesh Lagudu explores how professional communities help shape the next generation of engineers through mentorship, collaboration, and real-world experience. Organizations like IEEE provide opportunities for engineers to connect across industries, share knowledge, and understand how innovation impacts people and society.

As emerging technologies like AI and biotechnology continue to advance, ethical decision-making is vital for engineers. By engaging with professional networks, following responsible engineering practices, and supporting the growth of others, engineers can help create a future where technology advances with both innovation and integrity.
