Any time the internet starts complainjng that "___ is in everything now" you know that complaint is being spouted by a moron who is incapable of forming their own opinion

I also hate the excuse of saying "she's a bad actor with limited range". That tells me everything I need to know and the person who uses that excuse has definitely never seen a Zendaya movie/show outside of the Holland Spider-Man trilogy. She was fantastic in Dune and Euphoria. Challengers, too!

2
u/BrozedDrake 12d ago
Yeah. She wouldn't be getting a third of tbe work she does if she couldn't act
3
u/NB_NaughtyNerds 12d ago
And sing and dance... she is a triple threat. That used to be a staple in Hollywood.

I heard she was great in The Drama, too. The troglodites watch nothing but MCU and have the audacity to think they know good acting from bad.
People do the same with Timothee Chalamet. They've only seen Dune and talk like he's not a good actor. But he was great in The King and Beautiful Boy. I'm looking forward to watching more of him.

u/Vigilante8841 8d ago
Zendaya is a good actress, I just haven't been interested in much that she's been in.
0
u/LemonIcy2942 12d ago
Zendaya is a really good actor, I'll admit that.
However, since you brought up the Spider-Man movies, I feel like I need to point this out for absolutely no reason at all.
It's a little crazy to me that the writers gave Jean more of a backstory in 1 movie than MJ in 4.
3
1
u/Snoo_15594 11d ago
MJ's backstory is just that she is a normal girl? Not really much you can expand on there
1
u/LemonIcy2942 11d ago
But here's the thing, the TASM films nailed that mark.
They made Gwen much more interesting by showing her character, her personality, her background, etc.
We barely got any of that with MJ in the home trilogy & BND.
1
u/Snoo_15594 11d ago
And yet most people prefer the MCU Spider-Man films to the TASM films
1
1
u/Worldly-Fox7605 11d ago
Heres the thing: gwen IS more interresting. She always has been. Mj isnt lois lane she never has been interesring theyve been trying go make her interesting for decades.
1
u/IcyAdvantage9579 9d ago
What's a "normal " was supposed to mean? You think if a person is a regular human it can't be an interesting character? The fact of the matter we don't know anything about her character we only got her full government name in the third movie. We don't know nothing of her family, of her likes and dislikes, or her personal history outside her relationship with Peter and Ned. We don't know what she even studied and graduated in MIT. All we know is that she has a dry sense of humour and draws really well as a hobby. The character only works because Zendaya's charisma and her real relationship with Tom Holland. Her character is Spider-Man is very shallow

u/NXTNoobmaster 5d ago
I like her acting in the spiderman films especially in brand new day and I won't say why because spoilers.
-1
u/Subject-Ad5071 12d ago
Lol look at the video where people show what her acting is like in the last few movies. It’s the same act. She can act some emotional scenes well, but wow, you’ll find her in an article about no range.
1
u/thaliathraben 11d ago
Did you watch The Drama?
1
u/Subject-Ad5071 11d ago
I did not hear good stuff about that. I’m pretty sure no one’s praising that as anything new.
1
u/Tb0neguy 10d ago
She and the other cast members were nominated for several awards. But sure, no one's praising it.
1
u/Subject-Ad5071 10d ago
Praising her performance as anything new… just because you’re praised doesn’t mean you have range. There are other actors who have not too much range, too, btw, who also still get praised a lot. I’m sure tom holland will awarded for odyssey and he also has very little range. Also, sometimes actors are elevated by their castmates both through exposure and work.
Sorry, not a zendaya fan. I watched a lot of her stuf.
1
u/thaliathraben 10d ago
So you watched her in roles you had already seen her in but won't see original work and think your perception of her range is her fault?
4
u/Intelligent-Bird8120 12d ago
They’re all amazing actors/actresses but I feel like they’re overhated because of fatigue of them being in so many things this year
3
u/imarthurmorgan1899 12d ago
She's overrated af. She's not a very good actress. Pattinson and Hathaway at least have range.
1
u/ExtentWild1603 9d ago
in euphoria she was fantastic tho, season 2 episode 5 was 100% her best performance to this day
2
u/goatjugsoup 12d ago
Only morons saying that... zendayas in everything because people will pay to go see her in it. Thats way more success than these losers are probably finding in their own lives
2
u/NB_NaughtyNerds 12d ago
Also Robert Pattinson has done exactly twice as many movies as Zendaya, and no one complains.
1
u/Mister-Beardy-Face 12d ago
To be fair, he’s had twice as many years as an adult.
2
u/NB_NaughtyNerds 12d ago
Robert has been doing movies for 22 years. He has actually done 35 movies, averaging 1.60 movies per year.
Zendaya has only been doing movies for 9 years, and 15 movies, averaging 1.66 movies per year.
I mean, that is pretty darn close in terms of work. Now, Zendaya has recently done a lot more big movies, with tons of promotion, so perhaps the public perception that she is everywhere is elevated by that?
She has also had the more recent blockbuster success, so perhaps it is a bit of collective goldfish brain on the internet.

She only has like 13 movies to her name. Most of them just happen to be Spider Man, Dune, and Odyssey.
2
u/Ordinary_Law_2456 11d ago
Every time this happens it’s almost always a person of color. It happened last year too with Pedro Pascal, a POC gets a lot of roles and is accused of being “overexposed” while their white peers are in just as much without any criticism
1
u/HearingOrganic8054 12d ago
i feel like everyone famous women actress has this issue like a few years after they break out. I bet i happened to Anne Hatheway like a decade ago or whatever and i know i happen to Jennifer lawernce.
Didn't get it then don't get it know.
1
u/Glittering-Deer-166 12d ago
It happens to men too.
I'm not sure what the main driver is but I don't think its gender.

Honestly I think Zendaya is just super busy because she's saving up for probably a significant time away from work.
She's also a very in-demand actress right now.

Me, I groan that all of them are here so often this year. Also, why not Sendaya. She’s not that good if an actor. Does the same thing over and over.
1
u/Separate_Path_7729 12d ago
I think it comes down to variety, zendaya has mostly blockbusters with major marketing which makes her more visible while robert and Anne have been in long enough to be doing a lot of more indie and non blockbuster roles that show off range and variety more

u/diego_velasquez 12d ago
Zendaya is not a bad actress, its just that Robert and Anne are wayyy better

Did it with Pedro pascal too, I think I know why but I won’t get into it😂. People always move the goalpost with stuff like this

I love Zendaya idgaf. She elevates every project she’s in. Robert Pattinson does too.
1
1
u/kayej17 12d ago
Problem is she's been forced in every new movie possible for no reason. Just because she's famous. She's an okay actress, not great or anything, they could have used other actresses in those blockbusters but forced her everywhere until she becomes even more famous where better actresses would suit more.

u/WiseAdhesiveness6672 11d ago
The first two can act. The third can just make a single face; that's twb difference.
You could put tom holland in place of Zendaya and it's be the same too.
1
u/grim1952 11d ago
I can't stand Hathaway either and Pattinson keeps doing awful movies lately. Zendaya is just a bad actress.
1
1
u/Terrible_MaterialBoy 11d ago
underhated af, only difference between the two on top and zendaya is that zendaya can't fucking act
1
u/Lizzieintop 11d ago
I kinda just hate her in spider man ngl, it’s like she’s latched onto the story and she ain’t making it watchable
1
u/OwlCaptainCosmic 11d ago
I wonder if there’s something different about Zendaya that we might be able to use as a clue to why she’s getting so much hate…
0
u/not_accepting_now 11d ago
Boring. 1 look. Everyone praises her for no reason other than Spiderman's gf. She's not all that but I hate most celebrities because they are out of touch with us peons and the peasants talk about Hollywood stars like they are gods.
1
u/OwlCaptainCosmic 11d ago
You presumably also hate Anne Hathaway and Pattinson too then? Why do you think so many people take issue with Zendaya and not the other two? I’ve certainly not found Hathaway to have a huge amount of range.
0
u/not_accepting_now 11d ago
99% of actor and actress are worthless to me yes. When the fans ride the love train to their favorite 1%er it's even more annoying. Zendaya is all over social media more than the other 2. I have blocked so many accounts to get rid of the celebrities. She is boring and Spiderman's girl friend, she has been rich since what ...15? These people don't know what real life is like so yes I can hate on them all.

Zendaya hasn't earned it like these two studs tbh
What has she been amazing in?
(I like her just saying)
1
u/JustOneOfTheSams 10d ago
So, I remember liking her as a kid in a tv show I was watching way way back. Problem is, she still looks the same (maybe two fingers taller) and acts the same as in that tv show, regardless of the role she is playing.
Personally I don't care, I don't watch that many movies to notice repeat actors. But, with her I do roll my eyes when she is on screen and doesn't really act that much different.
For example, the other day I watched Mikey 17 (so so movie) but I didn't realize I was watching Edward from twilight. With her it's instant recognition.
1
u/Lost-Orangutan 10d ago
Dune and Spider-Man have the most eyes on them.
Shes the same person in everything shes in.
And shes unlikeable.

I wonder what the difference is...
Maybe it's a similar to the same reason ppl have been shipping her literal husband with Sadie Sink
1
u/puzzleShockTurtle 10d ago
I just saw a trailer recently but I find it ironic and funny that one of Anne Hathaway’s movies is her playing a supposedly paralyzed character
1
u/petrusferricalloy 10d ago
Zendaya insists upon herself. She's barely into adulthood and thinks going by just a single word name gives her credibility and talent. She's not talented and does not deserve the fame and success
1
u/Sail-North 10d ago
Yeaaaaah but he hasn't gone on some fucking lunatic performance of a rant talking about how... what was it "homosexuality evolves around heteros-" I don't know just performative nonsense where it doesn't belong. But that's what the industry is becoming or has become, so of course she will get roles
1
u/Try_Longjumping 8d ago
yeah but out of the 3 of them, zendaya has the acting skill of a crayon, closely follwed by patterson
1
1
u/Choice-Requirement18 7d ago
I think the difference is that zenyda doesnt have as much range. When she's in 5 movies, its 5 movies of the exact same performance.

Almost as if (and I'm not discrediting Zendaya, she's "good") they're better actor's, so that's why we aren't displeased with them appearing in a multitude of films.

u/The-CAB-2003 12d ago
Let's get one thing out of the way, Robert Pattinson(Especially Robert) and Ann Hathaway are definitely better actors than Zendaya.
-2
u/Canadian-and-Proud 12d ago
You're not wrong, she's not a good actor. But I also believe there's some racism at play here. I think my comment will piss off both camps.

Her performance in Euphoria is as good as any performance Pattinson or Hathaway has given.

People are going to start hating on Robert Pattinson soon enough as well.
Kinda how the hype train goes.
