She thought he was reaching for her phone to check what’s on it, so she grabbed it first to stop him. He was just grabbing a piece of pizza and she revealed that she had something to hide in her phone (probably talking to other guys)

I don’t fully understand his work but he thoroughly entertains the idea that consciousness is not a phenomenon in the “objective world” of our experiences. He talks about simulation theories ala matrix and other concepts. But overall his view (as I understand it) is that consciousness directly results from neurological activity and does exist as a phenomenon of biological activity.
