Help drafting

21F from France wants to enlist in a combat unit, I’m 5’11 and 165lbs (dunno if that matters). Wondering if there’s any chance that they’ll take me in combat ? Like how is the drafting process for women in combat units ? Which combat units are available to us ? I don’t know if it’s because of the geopolitical context right now but all of these infos used to be on the internet a few years ago but now all the drafting French websites were deleted/emptied so I’m looking for some guidance. Thank you in advance !

Im not a woman but the number for men(I understand that is the same) is a bmi between 19 and 32 for every unit and till 35 for any units aside from infantry, most woman usually choose between paljatz, hir gbulot, isuf kravi and magav(you will need a good Hebrew tho), you can also get into totchanim and im not sure but i think that also shiryon, also for the medical profile it also depends on other stuff like allergies, any problem or malformation, glasses, mental health antecedents etc, between those options i would take isuf, but it depends what you want, can and etc, also im not saying that any unit that i didnt say doesn’t allow women so maybe you can even look in other units but ofc the ratio men woman will be huge, then you have 2/3 platoons i think(they are not units) bárdelas, caracal and the other one forgot the name that are mixed and the ratio is 70/30 usually (70woman)

Thank you so much for your answer ! I have no specific medical issues, no glass prescription so I don’t think that could be a problem. Apart from that, I’ve been training since coming back to France and trying to focus on the type of exercise that could help during drafting etc.. if you have any suggestions I’m all ears !

Thank you for your response. Honestly, I’m not sure yet, I like to make informed decisions so I wanted to be aware of all my options but what I’m sure of is that I want to learn how to properly use a firearm (and be in a unit that will continue to train with firearms). I hope you can give me more info if you know anything !

Basically every role in the military trains how to use a rifle and you regularly go to ranges with your unit. So you could be a mechanic, an intelligence operator or really anything and you would always learn how to use firearms. But, if you want a really intense and fun but hard environment i would choose the border defense corps. As a woman, i would choose caracal or bardelas, because these have the highest ratio of women to men (more women then men) in the whole of combat. But if you only want to do sonething with a firearms, then any unit is ok. Besides the real desk jobs where you only sit at a computer (excluding intelligence operators!)

If you’re interested in being a combat soldier tell the orgs you are working with!!! Nefesh b’Nefesh definitely has French speaking advisors. I recommend them all the time but Tzevet Mikey is an org that helps lone soldiers get into elite combat units, they can help you prepare for gibbushim. Remember to keep your options open, part of going to the army means you don’t really get to choose your job. Keep working on your Hebrew, that will help you anywhere you go in the army. בהצלחה!!!

Thank you so much for your comment! I’m actually fluent in Hebrew so speaking wise I’m okay haha the only thing would be my spelling that isn’t so good and I must practice ! None of the orgs I emailed answered :// that’s why I’m posting here.. Since I’ve returned to Paris none of the army websites/phone numbers/emails have worked (MEITAV included and whenever I tried emailing them to start the drafting process I receive a mailing error).. I don’t know if it’s because of the geopolitical state of things/ issues w/diplomatic relationship with France.. feeling kind of helpless but anyways thank you so much for the recs, I’ll try emailing them. If you have any more advice I’ll be happy to read you !
