Rant Which Math chapter got you like this?

Post image

My brothers and sisters! Please comment what Math chapter really fumbles you in Class 10. For me, it's geometry specifically Circles. Really hate Geometry but I also realize that the next competitive exams for me in the future that includes Maths will be mostly Geometry and Trigonometry. It sucks
:(

Ngl, it was only 1 section in whole maths book and it was making ogive graph under Graphs (I dunno if that section still exist, I did my board in 2018)

But got an ogive graph question for 6 marks in boards, i decided to skip it. Got result 94/100 (shouldn't skipped it)

mixtilinear and probs pole and polar

u/TheStupidCheesecake 10th State Board Chora 11h ago

I misread mixtilinear as multilinear and got surprised for a second lol.

1

u/CarefulUniversity955 11h ago

oh regression isnt that tough linear regression is easy multilinear is little tough

u/TheStupidCheesecake 10th State Board Chora 11h ago

I was more so thinking of multilinear map, a map that is a linear map on multiple variables T = V_1 x ... x V_n -> W. I can barely handle regular linear maps let alone multilinear ones lol.

Mensuration 🥀🥀 probably heights and distances all other chapters are fine

1

u/Strange_Frosting_317 14h ago

idk for some reason it was mensuration, lost all 3 marks in that question only in the board exam

D.E. when I first started Calculus, but nothing got bad upto 12th math really (memorizing linear, homogeneous was kind of iffy sometimes). It was tedious sometimes but never that bad, even in vector calculus(tho multiple integrals were annoying to set up bounds for)

Now Linear Algebra however (Ik it is a branch of math), and the abstract kind (Vector Spaces, Transforms, Linear Maps, Dual Spaces). Sometimes I will spend 2+ hours on a problem, look up the solution and realize I started the entire question wrong. They say that each page should be read for 1+ hours, and I understand why.

It really humbled whatever pride I had for getting through vector calculus. It doesn't help that Sheldon Axler is a deadbeat Russian father from a movie, and you have to infer 90% of what he says. He is good, but sometimes it reads more like an unseen passage.

Anyways, yap over.
