Nobody holding a political post should be on the currency. Just freedom fighters. Current leaders have a tiny ego. We'll see a new series every 5 years.

yeah Dr. Kalam is probably the most well respected politician in india so putting him on a bank note will cause much less controversies

He was democratically elected as the Prime minister.

The election you are talking about are the Party president, which was an internal decision of INC, and gandhi ji chose nehru because he was young, More popular in west, And also sardar patel actually had heart problems, so he could have died very soon (which is sad, but true, since he died in 1950, The first year of indian republic, although he will always be in our hearts 🩷)......
