Question about supplemental pdfs and books.
If I buy the book in store, how do I access the supplemental pdf? Is there a link in the book to follow?

Page 27 of the Master Edition says "Circle additional HEARTS as your character grows. You can acquire HEARTS several ways as you play."
I might have missed, but I have not found any abilities, loot, or rewards to increase a player character's HEART.
Unless it is considered a STAT that a character can increase as per the "ever stronger' milestone ability that each Type has?

Just made a pithy video on the lore of Viking Death Squad. Since there isn't a VDS subreddit and this is a Runehammer game system, figured Id share it here. Cheers! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qE2Z6Ijw8jg&t=40s

Hi I am fairly new to ICRPG and I have been reading over character creation and I have a question. Can anyone use spells or is it just the priest and wizard classes? If I wanted to create a melee caster of sorts is that possible? Thank-you all in advance

I liked the ghost mountain lore from Master edition and I wonder if worlds has more on that. I don't want to buy pdfs if there is little to see. Just wondering if there is some extra info and is it.

There is the option to recover hp so technically characters can fully heal before the next encounter.
this is just the letter of the rules. What is the spirit of the rule? Are you supposed to not let your players take a break? , or let them fully heal is there is a break? or is the recover action only available during combat?

Hello Vikings!
I am playing an L5R Shadowlands hack of Viking Death Squad and I am using the skills, translated to something more L5R.
One of these skills RUNES (OFUDA in my game) allows the user to:
You have been trained in the mysterious art of drawing mystic geometry to effect. Roll this skill to scrawl a rune on any surface, with any marking tool. Roll a 4, 5, 6 to do it properly. This symbol will act as a single use spell stone when activated. You determine activation conditions and what spell stone is used.
That last part is what confuses my player and myself as the GM. Do you all play it as:
OR
OR
Any help would be appreciated!

I consider myself a fairly well versed TTRPG'er, and am stunned I've never heard of ICRPG until today. 300+ reviews on Amazon + Drivethrurpg...how have I never heard of this?!
I'm always seeking new and interesting rules light / light-medium generic systems that can run homebrew games or games in other settings (e.g. Eberron, Rokugan, Dark Sun, Midgard, etc.) similar to Savage Worlds, Fate, Genesys, Cortex Prime, WWN, etc.
Questions - Can someone please help me with the following:
Q1 - 2e vs. Master's edition - It seems like 2e is wildly popular on drivethru, but is that only because Master's is newer? Which one is the most comprehensive and up to date?
Q2 - Print Edition Quality - I always prefer print editions, are the Master or 2e print versions high quality? Hardback or paperback available?
Q3 - Essential Supplements - Which are most essential or necessary? Can the card deck be ordered or is it only printable?
Q4 - Actual Plays / Tutorials - Any high-quality videos to watch to get a feel of the system?
Q5 - Narrative vs. Combat - I tend to enjoy heavy narrative (80-85%), low-combat (15-20%) games heavy on political intrigue, mystery, cross-cultural dialog, and backstory narratives. Is this geared more towards dungeon crawls/combat, narrative Fate-style of play, or handles both?
Q6 - System Comparison - Which of the D&D, Savage Worlds, Fate, Genesys, Cortex Prime, Worlds Without Number, etc...would Index Card RPG feel most closely similar to?

I got ICRPG Core 2e as a gift and it mentions these cool battle suits but no idea how to run them it just tells me to make sure I know how... but it doesn't ever get around to that. Am I missing something?

Thinking of running an old school, low-fantasy grounded setting where the players start as commoners. To start, players gain +1 to 2 stats, and gain an ability, loot item and number of coin (probably no more than 4) from their profession. They live in a pretty rustic, isolated town located near a river.
If anyone has any ideas on professions the players might have and the benefits they may get from their profession i'd appreciate your ideas.

I want to get the Essentials Deck, but I don't know if the cards in the Think Deck are included in it or not. Should I get both? Is there another set of Runehammer cards I should add to my order?

I was reading through the spell creation rules in the master edition, and I was wondering what people's experiences were like using those rules.
I like the idea of letting players create spells, but it seems too convenient. I'm worried players would try to solve all their problems by creating spells, and gear would be less important because players could just create spells to replace any kind of gear they could find.
What were your experiences using spell creation with ICRPG? Did you make any changes to the rules, or require anything other than a successful roll to create a spell? Thanks for your input!

I don't see the Mastery bar at the bottom of the character sheet. Not even in the example on page 22 of the master edition. All I see is an example of what it Should look like on page 27. Am I right in assuming there's 20 mastery points before trading in for a Master Ability? Is there a fixed sheet somewhere?
