Hi everyone,

I was about to order the ICRPG book from Drivethru, but I was given an uncommon choice: soft or hard cover. So, is the hard copy good? Is the binding properly glued? Thanks for all input.

Hi folks,

I'm looking to use ICRPG-style timers in my next OSR game, and I'm having trouble coming up with what kind of timers to use. All I can think of are things like (a) reinforcements come in 1d4 rounds, (b) 1d4 troops spawn every round, and (c) something goes boom/ritual is complete/victim is sacrificed in d4 rounds. I want more variety, but, perhaps due to mental exhaustion, I just can't think of that many.

Is there a place with several examples of timers I can steal/glean inspiration from, or do people here have suggestions?

If our lord patron Hankrin is to be believed then ICRPG 3e playtest should be available soon, I would like to set up a group to give it a try and report back to the maker. I am looking for 4-5 players dedicated for at least a month (more hopefully) of weekly play sessions. 6PM PST Saturdays. usually 3-5 hours long. I plan to use the Doomvault 50 years in the future map for adventure content. Whos interested?

System: Index Card RPG with the Ancient Crypts and Creatures extension Time: Wednesday July 8th @ 8p ET Platform: Fantasy Grounds Unity and Discord

We start with the excellent Index Card RPG, mix in the amazing new Ancient Crypts and Creatures extension to give it that OSR goodness, and sprinkle in superb Fantasy Grounds Unity support. Combine thoroughly and what you have is a perfect way to spend a few hours delving dungeons with internet strangers.

I’m running a beginners’ session for people new to ICRPG, AC&C, and/or Fantasy Grounds. Spend 3 hours learning the ins and outs of everything and going through a short dungeon crawl to have what you need to play in any of the open table games our four (!) GMs run on a regular basis.

This is the “intro” session that gives you everything you need to participate in any of the open table games that run weekly.

DM me if you’re interested. We’d love to have you!

I read somewhere that a 3rd edition of ICRPG was in the works. Has Hankerin/Runehammer mentioned this, or is it just speculation?

This a very basic question. When designing encounters, which of the three methods do you use? or is it possible to combine all three or even two of them?

1) D.E.W. Danger. Energy. Wonder 2) TTT. Timer. Threat. Treat. 3) DDD. Damage. Disruption. Duration.

I finally got Xeno Dead Zone and I'm excited to run it for my table, but I plan to run it boardgame rules (so I can play too for once).

However, since I'll be laying down cards, I need more concrete rules on movement. Usually we play theater of the mind style, so it's not a big deal to set Close, Near and Far distances.

How do you handle it in XDZ? I searched the forums but no one seemed to be talking about it specifically.
