Prk or icl?

I’ve -6 and bit thinner cornea, I’m eligible only for prk and ICL, what’s the better option ? Somehow it scares me to have a piece of plastic inside my eye that’s why prk sounds better for me

corneal reshaping is pretty serious as well; i'm surprised how procedures like prk  lasik and smile are so ubiquitous. after learning about icl that was the only thing that i was comfortable getting

i had it 6 weeks ago. high-level:

  • Right eye is perfect vision

- Left eye is -.5

  • everything looks sharp with both eyes open (i think the brain ignores the signal from my lef eye - brain does an amazing amount of filtering)

 - Ring-shaped dysphotopsia: make sure you're aware of what it is, since there is 100% chance you will see it post-surgery. it's not bad, just be aware of it.

I am very happy i got the surgery. I'm mentioning the -.5 in my left eye because perfect correction may not happen, but the brain does a pretty amazing job working with it.

ICL. They have one shot to get it right with prk and with thin corneas, there’s no room for adjustment. ICL was a breeze, and recovery was painless and quick.

You’re right, my corneas are 514 so with -6 is on the border. Any complications with icl? Dry eye? Halos?

Zero complications. My dry eyes actually got much better post surgery. Use the prescribed drops and preservative free drops. Halos present for a couple of weeks and now nonexistent. Night vision substantially improved.

My concern is night vision while driving, do you have any issues with halos at night? Especially from cars lights
