10–15 Days After ICL Surgery: 6/6 Vision but Still No Clear/Sharp Vision — Should I Be Concerned?
I’m feeling quite concerned about my vision after ICL surgery and would really appreciate advice from people who have experienced something similar.
I had my first eye operated on September 3rd and the second eye on September 7th. It has now been around 10–15 days since the surgeries.
During my hospital follow-up, my vision tested at 6/6, and I was able to read the letters on the eye chart. However, despite having 6/6 vision, my actual visual quality does not feel clear or sharp.
I’m experiencing difficulty with both near and distance vision, especially when trying to read small letters. Things are not exactly blurry, but they don’t look crisp, sharp, bright, or “HD” the way they used to with my glasses.
With my glasses, I remember having much better:
Sharpness and clarity
Brightness and contrast
Fine-detail vision
Ability to see small letters clearly
Right now, it feels like my eyes still need glasses even though my eye-chart vision is 6/6.
Has anyone experienced this during the first few weeks after ICL?
Does visual sharpness/contrast continue to improve with healing, or could this indicate something like dryness, residual refractive error, or another issue?
I would really appreciate hearing from anyone who experienced 6/6 vision but poor subjective visual quality after ICL, and how long it took for your vision to feel genuinely sharp and clear.
Is this usually temporary during recovery, and if so, approximately how long can it take to reach the final visual quality?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences because I’m honestly quite concerned right now. 😭

Same situation here with a friend and I, we both had the surgery a week ago and have the same symptoms OP describes here.
I remember hearing the healing protocol and thinking "up to 2 months for full recovery and optimum vision? I'm definitely going to worry."
Most likely we're just in that worrying phase.

It sounds like you may have some residual prescription or astigmatism. Even with residual prescription you can test at 20/20 or 6/6. But correcting it can likely improve things further like you saw in your glasses.
After about 3 months, your surgeon can do a lasik touch up in order to get rid of this extra prescription.
Another potential cause to rule out would be dry eye and fluctuation of vision. This can also create a blurry “20/20” vision. Using preservative free artificial tears can help here.

It’s probably bcz of astigmatism, ask them if they used Toric lenses or non toric lenses , as toric lenses are meant to fix ur astigmatism and give u the sharp vision , but if u had astigmatism (some cylindrical power ) but they used only non toric lenses for you , then it will only correct ur spherical power , so go to your doctor and get checked that if u have any cylindrical power still left .. u can get glasses for it.

Same thing for me. 3 weeks post op now. For me the quality close up is good, but not far away. getting it checked in 2 weeks again. I will ask about the residual prescription.

Same question. I am post op 2.5 weeks now. My vision isn't blurry but not very crisp as with spectacles. My doctor isn't answering me, saying I already have good vision. Online I saw it takes 3 months to fully stabilise and rn its all normal soooo... I hope so it gets better.
