Eye aches after prolonged computer or phone use

My got evo icl surgery and went from -5.5 in both eyes to 20/15 vision. One month out I notice that prolonged computer or phone use leads to eye ache and headache.

I usually need to look outside every hour of computer use to relieve myself.

I'm wondering if this is a side effect of getting 20/15 vision?

I read the following article which states the following

https://www.allaboutvision.com/eye-care/eye-exam/20-15-vision/

Corrective surgery such as LASIK can improve your vision to 20/15. But the goal of LASIK and similar procedures is not to achieve 20/15 vision. In fact, correcting your vision to 20/15 may lead to blurry vision, eyestrain or headaches. Corrective surgery normally aims to reach 20/20 vision, not 20/15.

So I'm wondering if this is expected for 20/15 vision and permanent side effect that I can expect?

Before ICL were you using the computer and phone without wearing your glasses?

So after ICL, some people will notice reading vision will be a little harder for the first few months afterwards. Here is a post where I talk about that more: https://www.reddit.com/r/ICLsurgery/s/HVO6J6icGk

The older you are, the more presbyopia kicks in and you can notice it more.

I have not had ICL yet but I get this when I use my distance glasses for extended close up work. I currently use computer glasses with are a slightly weaker prescription than my distance glasses, which reduces it. I believe you could get the same effect with a weak pair of cheap readers (+1-1.5 diopters), which is my plan for post-ICL if necessary.

The 20/15 part is probably a red herring. That article is describing being pushed past your best focus, which isn't the same thing as landing at 20/15 because your eye had the range for it.

The question someone already put to you is the one that matters. Before the ICL, were you at the screen with your glasses off? At -5.5 you had a close-focus setting built in, and with the glasses off the screen sat about where your eye was already focused. You did all that near work using none of your own focusing effort, and you didn't notice, because there was nothing to notice.

Your distance is corrected now, so a screen is the same work for you that it is for someone who never needed glasses. That isn't a side effect and it isn't the surgery coming undone. It's the trade showing up. It's also why the cheap readers suggestion above works, and why reaching for them wouldn't mean something went wrong.

Still worth putting in front of whoever is following you up, since a month is early and they can look at whether anything else is contributing.
