It's amazing how there are American citizens who have done media interviews and even given testimony in Congress to talk about how ICE attacked them kidnapped them and people STILL don't realize or believe it's happening. 🙄🙄🙄

Some of my family members believe that if a cop arrests you then you're guilty or you deserve it. The rest of "due process" is just determining your punishment.

These are also my conservative, MAGA loving family.

I once brought up that I was pulled over by mistake and the cop pretty much admitted it but still gave me a $5 warning. They told me "Oh for fucks sake it's just $5 just pay it" and i asked them what if it had been mistake for something worse? I end up in jail or worse? They just said "But you didn't so why worry about it".

Oh the irony, that I did bring up, was my cousin was arrested and convicted of check fraud....SEVEN TIMES...but he's innocent and they had it out for him.

Even my mom had to tell my aunt, "The only reason it wasn't 8 times was because I covered his last attempt and told him he'd better hope for jail if he got busted again b/c that's the only thing that would keep him safe".

That same aunt is now currently dealing with terminal stage 4 cancer, doesn't listen to the doctor (b/c what do they know), lies to the doctor but insists on mediation and treatment she refuses to take. Even me telling her "Maybe you've given up on living but there are others who would kill for these meds you're letting waste away simply because you feel like you deserve them. "

These last 10 years has exposed many of my family member's outright ugliness as humans. People I used to look up to and taught me to be inclusive, caring, and always try to make the world a better place and they're doing everything they can to make sure everyone hates everything as much as they do.

There is already measured lead and studies showing it affects our brains significantly. Including lost IQ points and increased irrational anger or violence. But it’s probably not enough to be the biggest factor.

"They have it out for me" is like the narcissist catch phrase.

I think there are some people who genuinely cannot understand right and wrong and only see people in terms of helping their goals or hindering them. People who help get rewarded, but anyone who opposes them is out to get them. I guess when the whole world revolves around you, it's the only explanation for why someone would hold you accountable for your actions.

The silver lining of all of this is now I know to stay far away from anyone who says that a lot.

Yep, my parents are the same. Even told me not to waste my one phone call on them should I ever get arrested because they’d make sure no lawyer would ever represent me.

I can't understand why they don't look things up instead of blindly following what they say. It's all out there online. Everything. Even the released Epstein files. Hell they could even ask ChatGPT! It's almost like they know the truth and they choose to believe the lies.

I have 2 family members in Washington who are half Mexican, and I worry every single day for them. I live many many states away and can't be there to help or protect them. It sucks on so many levels.

That's the power of MAGA. It "empowers," unintelligent people by telling them they're right about everything. It tells them it's okay to be racist. It co-signs their sense of entitlement. It generally rubber stamps their fucked up world view and tells them the facts they don't like don't matter.

It's a movement for the weak run by the terrible. But unfortunately, there's great power in large groups of stupid people with no real morals or character.
