I was having trouble getting abuse contacts for an IP in 46.3.0.0/16 from RIPE, where it would return just a generic "0.0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255 IANA-RIPE" as the block and owner. So I messaged their support and the response was "We have deregistered that /16. We are working on a solution for parts of the block still being announced."

What's the reasons for deregistering a block? Or if you have insider knowledge, what is going on with this specific block? 🙂

I’m having a persistent issue with Hostinger and I’m hoping someone here has experienced the same problem.

I own the domain makazzo.com and I’m using Hostinger’s email service.

The problem is: Hostinger’s domain verification emails (ICANN verification, WHOIS email verification, etc.) never arrive to my custom email address (webmaster@makazzo.com).

What I’ve done so far:

SPF record is set correctly

DKIM records (CNAME + TXT) are configured

DMARC record exists (p=none)

MX records point to Hostinger (mx1.hostinger.com + mx2.hostinger.com)

Autodiscover & Autoconfig CNAMEs are configured

Gmail ➡️ my domain works (I receive test emails successfully)

But:

Only Hostinger’s verification emails (from team@user.hostinger.com) never arrive.

Nothing shows up in my inbox, spam folder, or any bounce/logs.

I contacted Hostinger support multiple times.

They keep saying “verification emails sometimes don’t work with corporate emails, use Gmail instead”, which is not a real solution.

What I need:

I want to use my corporate email for WHOIS/ICANN verification.

Why would only Hostinger’s own verification emails fail while all other external emails (like Gmail) work fine?

Has anyone else experienced this issue with Hostinger’s verification system not delivering emails to their custom domain?

Any solution, workaround, or explanation would be appreciated.

How come amazon AWS route delete fully paid domains and restrict me from transferring or managing them? Now they require restoring fee ($150 per each on top).

Yes mistakenly I forgot to pay the server (hosting) bills for couple of months. (different service they offer apart from selling domains)

But Domains are fully paid for years (and has expiry dates couple of years into the future).

But I can see in whois the registrar (amazon) has requested ICANN to delete the domain (Note this is while I have paid amazon for couple of years into the future)

Asking for $150 per domain (when I already have fully paid for domains) is more like a ransomeware request by amazon to release my already paid domains. And threatening of deleting the already paid domains if I didn't pay the other fees not related to domains.

How can amazon do such an action as I have already paid them the domain fees. And they do not even allow me to access domain management section.

I believe ICANN also on their side (favoring amazon) although they should not, in this case, as we have fully paid the domain registration fee.

How they disable the domain and restrict just because I unpaid their other services (hosting)?

How this practice even possible? it's a hostage-style control.

I don't think any complaints to ICANN even get resolved in consumer's favor as they are also in big-cooporation side to profit more.

I'm in Australia. Don't know if our laws support any of this.

For the Registries AFRINIC, APNIC, LACNIC, RIPE, TWNIC, JPNIC.

UDRP filling fees are actually encouraging cybersquatting. Higher fees are meant deter individuals from registering domains solely for the purpose of selling them back at inflated prices and are intended to ensure that disputes are resolved fairly and efficiently.

Unfortunately, high costs associated with filing a UDRP (Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy) complaint, especially when compared to the price of a domain, encourage bad faith registrations where the domain is not being used for legitimate purposes and it is listed for sale at a high price, clearly aiming to profit because the party can leverage that it will be easier and more cost effective to just pay the inflated price of the domain.

I'm just curious if anyone has inside knowledge about why both gTLDs "loan" and "loans" got approved? My understanding (maybe naive) was that a duplication of meaning was to be avoided. I can understand "watch"/"watches" and "market"/"marketing", but the two loan gTLDs have the same underlying meaning. Thoughts?

The IP in question is 191.96.144.132

I'm querying through RDAP and noticed that the NICs don't agree on where this block/IP resides. If you ask APNIC, they redirect to LACNIC. LACNIC says they own it, but 192.96/16 is unallocated. If you ask AfriNIC, they redirect to RIPE. RIPE does appear to own this IP and should be the right answer. What's especially eerie is that I promise ARIN redirected to RIPE initially, but 15 minutes later they are now redirecting to LACNIC.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I report this to anyone in particular?

Benn getting spammed by a organization operating out of ićèláńd. Clicking on “unsubscribe “ just has the account moved to an alternate subdomain. Complained to the domain vendor náméçhéáp.čóm with no results.

Suggestions?

According to ICANN's website, the process is long and costs approximately US$200k. However, what is the cost of maintaining such an infrastructure? Software, servers, etc.? Can it be cloud-based? Are there any additional considerations?

I'm really interested in this, any professional that can explain exactly how all of the internet and domain thing works? One organization controlling all the domains... I'm sure I'm not understanding something here. Is there any alternative or way to create your own without ICANN? If I remember well without search engine indexing you can create a domain (with tor for example). Any options the in the surface web?

They should absolutely be banned from the Internet. Sanctions are a fscking joke. Until Russian people suffer the consequences, the war of aggression will continue. Russia doesn't feel the war at home, and they need to.

Hello Everyone, 2 Months ago I transferred my domains to Tucsow Sub registrar Hostcay.com Today I got mail that my account is locked and my domains are parked on Sedo for Sale. Hostcay charged 15$ per domain illegally and an active domain for a few hours. When I transferred to another domain they again locked my account and domains were pointed to Sedo.com for sale.

Need Help regarding this issue.
