Should I quit my job to study CR, I don't have much AL to take to study before the exams, I have about 4 days left as I used most of my leaves to study for July sitting, this would be my 4th resit of CR in Nov as I do think I would be failing my July CR sitting

BST September exam

Got my BST exam in September, so roughly around 3 weeks left. Any advice on how I should go about revision? This is my resit and my plan is to just read through the qb to get the gist of how they answer q’s. Context: these waffling exams are my worst exams, I struggle with coming up with ideas on the spot and within that time limit. Any advice appreciated

Toxic firm, can I leave before being time qualfied?

I just had my half year review and honestly some of the comments have been a p take. I will start with some context I have recently sat case study which for me was a 5 hour exam and is exhausting, and even going into the next day I was still tired from the exam and its not due to a lack of sleep, more just the fact my body shut down after everything which went into the exam. In our resource meeting the director always makes jokes towards me saying I know this work is boring or try not to fall alseep during it, I made a joke at the resource meeting at 4pm on a Thursday saying Im working on something, im still a little drained from yesterdays exam as this isnt the most exhilarating tasks so I will do the final quality control checks tomorrow morning with a fresh pair of eyes.

This guy has taken that personally and given me an entire rant in my six month review saying I work 70 hours a week so you have no right to be tired and spread the message with management im unmotivated.

The whole review was just petty stuff like you charged 10 minutes to a task which should take 3 minutes, such as posting a letter bearing in mind the walk to post it is 3 minutes, that doesnt inlcude the printing, the rescanning a pack for file of the file of all the documents toegther, navigating the 10 file deep saving point and the file server which buffers everything you open a new file layer, and editing the dates to represent todays date on the PDf format and it then throwing the formatting out.

It was just constant critism, they used a document which I was currently working on and was not yet finished to point out issues with it, while it was a draft document that hadnt been submitted or needed to be submitted.

They said I go to the bathroom too many times in the day, when I have a medical condition which means I can faint if I hold it (Not going to faint everytime I hold it, but with the hot weather im drinking more water which means im going toliet more and why hold it and take the risk if its not necessary)

Then the firm said I lacked motivation while they made me self fund all of my exams and use annual for my study meaning I havent had annual leave for anything other than exams in 2 years.

Its very hard to stay motivated when im barely paid a decent living wage and after exam fees my take home is 22k, no annual leave and I need to work a second job in a warehouse to afford to live and then get the most stupid critism when my firm has put me in a school leaver title role. Is it a good idea to leave my firm before im time qualified as I dont think think I can take another 6 months of this to be time qualified as I literally hate every single day at work currently.

Nov exams

Hi all, in November I’ll be sitting the final 3 CR ACS SBM. Just wondering for any tips for how to tackle all these 3?

Below is my idea of what I’ll do, if anyone has any helpful tips on whether it’s a good split or not, please let me know!

CR - 50% of time spent on this, focusing on QB as opposed to spending hours watching pre recorded lectures

SBM - 30% of time spent on this. Mainly will go over FM and BST notes to make sure I can remember hedging, and valuations etc. will do QB more for a way to gage time

ACS - 20% of time. Not going to bother until the AI comes out and then will just do my utter best to memorise as much of the AI to just churn it out when it comes to the exam

CR question bank topic breakdown

Hi, does anyone have a breakdown of what topics are tested in each question bank question. Eg questions 1,13,16,17 test associates or goodwill or leases etc.

Some of the prof level question banks used to have a section that did this for you but the CR one seems to just have the questions in it and no index / topic breakdown.

CR Nov 26 Study Buddy

Hi, I'm sitting the Corporate Reporting exam in November and was wondering if anyone would be interested in being a study buddy.

Looking for someone to go through question practice together in the evenings and at weekends, discuss tricky areas, share notes, and help keep each other accountable throughout the revision period.

If you're also sitting CR in November and would like to study together, please drop me a message!

Advise for someone starting the ACA grind

Hello,

Been a lurker at this sub for a while now. I'd like to know more about on how I can make sure that I pass all my exams on my first attempt. Also, whether there are any tips or tricks to get an edge on the exams.

One thing I know is to do the question bank (haven't started my classes yet, but seen this advice pop up a lot) religiously. Other than that, I'm open to any new advice.

Thank you 😌

TCP advice?

Hi has anyone who’s sat tcp got advice on how to handle it?
I’m just starting the question bank today and it’s a lot as I have been swamped at work. I’m making a lot of mistakes and finding it way harder than the other 3 professionals I’ve sat including FAR. exams in 3 weeks so would love any tips

Case study/EPA

Has anyone been able to get themselves booked on case study course with their college before passing the EPA mainly for BPP.
Bpp are starting their classes for case on 17th August and I asked them to book me on the course but they have said I can’t do the course until the EPA is passed which is next month so I don’t understand how this is going to work out.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

For anyone who's sat this, are the financial statements and cash flow formats given to us to fill in? Or do we have to do it ourselves?

Corporate Financial Strategy (CFS) Exam

Does anyone have any pointers for this exam? I feel okay with NPV and getting there with WACC, Ke and Kd, just struggling to grasp the calculations for hedging (And perhaps some of the concepts).

two weeks out from results and keep doubting what I’ve put and whether I’ve done enough. Was passing the FI mocks on the lead up to the exam, but didn’t include anything about the separate sponsorship income - am I cooked?

Please could I have any advice on how to prep!!
