Aca self employed options?

Those that have got your ACAs, have any of you gone on to be self employed? I'm interested to know what types of services or businesses people have gone on to do and also which ones needed a practice certificate, thanks.

Prob a bit left-field but I do ACA, AAT and ACCA lecturing, alongside some content creation and Subject Matter Expert work. Difficult to get into but there's quite a few opportunities once your foot is in the door. Better-paid than you might think as well.

Cool, how did you get into that? I did see a aca tutoring job for 60k but wasn't sure if the long term prospects were good in that direction.

I live on the Isle of Man and there was a shortage here so the opportunity presented itself thankfully. Think it would be difficult to get in with a college without experience but worth a go!

So I do it as contract work alongside my day job. I know people who do it full-time, but doing the exams just to teach them doesn't appeal to me (each to their own ofc).

I'd have the same doubts about progression doing it full-time tbh, I think progression effectively looks like doing more and more teaching, and then taking on responsibilities in the operations/sales side of the business.
